Issue with rumours about Isla Nublar.

Seen a few articles and a couple of videos about Isla Nublar being a "Forced Creative sandbox" where you can control the weather, day / night, and unlimited money. Is that an optional thing people can use, or can people play it as a true sandbox, and let things happen naturally, and just build a park, expand, etc, without having unlimited money, and weather conditions just "happening"? 'cause a "Sandbox with Forced Creative" is one of, if not, THE most boring thing I can think of in mangement games of this sort.

Starting off with nothing, having to expand from having one enclosure earing just enough to stop yourself going bankrupt, to having the entire Island covered, is so much more fun than having unlimited money and ability to change the weather.

So please. Tell me it's an optional feature for Nublar, and not actually forced creative..'cause I'll be sorely tempted to play the campaign for 2 hours then refund on steam if it isn't...

Not sure at this point, but... What I heard is that things like weather conditions, you can set the frequency of them. You don't necessarily just click and there it is. Unlimited money, as far as I know, is enforced, but the method is yet to be seen. Depending on how it looks onscreen, it may be possible to enforce limitations on yourself.

All that said, I wager Isla Sorna will be quite large. You could easily clear that off once you've done what you want to do there, start over, and make that your "sandbox without forced creative" island. Hell, Sorna's bigger than Nublar.

Maybe so. But that's a "Creative Sandbox" and not "Sandbox".

If I want to instantly take over the island with no limit on how fast I can expand, there's cheat engines for that.

Sandbox (In gaming terms) literally means "Do what you want, when you want." What's been said about Nublar (From what I've found out looking at 10 or so different articles, and videos.), Is that it's "Creative Sandbox. Have unlimited money to do what you want."

It's pretty simple to make a checkbox when starting a game to allow us to have the option to be boring, and do creative, or enjoy the game for what it is, and make our own park, and expand depending on how much money we can make.

Exactly, this is what I was wondering as well. It would be great to just start from scratch, no unlimited money and having to unlock all the dinosaurs (with some unlocked starting dinosaurs to begin with), just like a free play mode.

If I remember correctly Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis had a similar system where you start with some money and a few dinosaurs and you have to work all the way to a 5 star park and unlocking all the dinosaurs in the way through.
It would be amazing if this is actually in the game, at least to make it more challenging, sandbox is great to create your dream park, but a free play mode is also great to create your dream park but atleast with some challenge [smile]

If possible can a dev clarify this some more?

You can do that with every island if you like, in fact i think thats kind of what you're supposed to do when you finish the story missions on each island.

I dont think that it will be the way you want. Because what you are talking about is literally Isla Sorna. Thats my impression atleast. Sorna seems to be the clean slate where you will have the opportunity to do whatever you want from scratch without having any initial infrastructure.

Ofcourse i might be wrong, but its just what i am expecting atleast.

Isla Sorna is a Campaign map though. It will have Campaign objectives. That's not sandbox, that's basically replaying the campaign.

Ah, i see your point. then i kinda agree that it would be nice to have a clean slate map :) Like the one you described now. I do hope that Nublar has that. But i also hope that you also got the opportunity to make a ecosystem or so.

Yeah, but once you finish its objectives, nothing's stopping you from deleting everything, building something and then destroying it repeatedly until you get down to the starting funds you want, and then starting over with a clean slate and no objectives.

Shouldn't have to do that, honestly. It should be Click "New game" Boom. You've got the basic of the basic stuff, and you can build up from there.

It should be starting off with a bit of cash, and a monorail for guests to arrive, you then choose where to build the starting buildings, first enclosure, etc, etc.

Yes but the problem is that you can't reset your park rating and the unlocked dinosaurs. IT would be great to just have a sandbox game from scratch with some starting funds and a couple of starting dinosaurs and unlock dinosaurs through the game when you unlock dig sites by increasing your park rating.

I guess the only way we'll actually know is for a Dev to read this, and reply, or to play the game enough to unlock it (Which will more than likely mean you can't refund it anymore.)

Well, you could drive your rating (and money!) down by letting all your dinosaurs loose but... You're right, there's no solution for unlocking dinosaurs, unfortunately.

The developers said that it would be what you call "Creative Sandbox" with unlimited money and all the dinosaurs 100%. There were already many complaints about this issue and they said that maybe in the future they would include a way to start from 0 but that at the launch of the game they would not be. If you really want that way, put it on this topic so that you really have it in mind: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showt...shlist-for-Jurassic-World-Evolution?p=6770863 # post6770863

If there were already "Many complaints" They should be thinking "Maybe we should spend 5 seconds making this..'cause that's all the time it would take.."

They have stated that it is 100% sandbox, no challenge mode or anything like that.

I would also prefer to have limited money and everything locked, so it would be great if the options were added but i most likely wouldn't play that mode/island until i have had enough with my campaign save and wanted to start again, hopefully with some options to change some settings ro make it more challenging.

I understand you perfectly. I also hate this design decision. Hopefully add as soon as possible a way to start from scratch. The truth is that I can not understand at what point it occurred to them that leaving us without having the option to start from the beginning whenever we wanted would be a good idea ... But we must hold on and wish that in the end we put this ESSENTIAL modality in the game .

Hopefully sooner rather than later.

Having a Sanbox Management game completely defeats the purpose of a Management game. :/
