Horizons Strong G passenger mission possible?

I just took pasenger mission to Strong G. Looks like its almost impossible for exploration DBX (4D Thrusters, no shields) to land on this crazy planet. Anyone did this before? Is it even posibble??

Out of curiosity which planet?

In general though, I don't think there are any landable planets you can't land on, especially in a DBX. Obvioulsy with high g planets you need to take extra care and slow right down before you land, and you'll probably take damage if you don't have shields, which might annoy the passengers.

A good trick to land on high G worlds is to turn flight assist off and on instead of thrusters so you come down real slow.

I found out hat a lot of people have problem with this mission

Cheers. Went to have a look... Bit of a bouncy landing - wouldn't do it without shields / a bit of practice.

Ensure 4 pips to shields for the landing and keep your ship as level as you can, avoid dipping the nose and use yaw to align with the pad if you need to.

Wow man, that was impressive. You flew there to land on this stupid rock :) I need to practice and do this mission another chance :)

Heh. yeah... I was curious and it semed like a good idea at the time! ;)

One thing - when you drop out of the glide, I'd suggest pulling up immediately - so you're pointing away from the planet, until you come to a complete stop and then slowly come down pulling up every so often to slow down. I left it too late and even pulling up didn't slow me enough to prevent a bounce (see the battered shields in the pic!).

It's also good fun to drive the SRV around - it really sticks to the floor in the high g - so it's worth taking one with you if you've got room!
