I wasn’t able to locate anything about this, it has to be out there somewhere but do we know when we can “open” our park to visitors? Do we need at least one dino? I think I remember seeing a video on putting the park on alert or something but can’t remember anything on opening it. Just curious if you have the option to build up your park a bit before people start arriving, or is it an automatic thing that guests just start showing up at the start?

IIRC, the first park automatically opens as soon as you breed your Struthy. The Isla Muerta park opens as soon as you close the emergency shelter.
It should be like Planet Coaster. I found PC kind of odd cause the parks started out open even before you built them. I just close mine till I have a few rides ready.

Only the first two? I thought all the Five Deaths (Sorna possibly excepted) came with structures already on them.
I think Matanceros and Muerta start out with some park buildings already on them and Sorna will have old buildings you can probably use.
No confirmation that I'm aware of, but I'd be a little surprised if we couldn't close the park. There seems to be a "gate-like" structure that serves as the entrance for each island, and I'd imagine if we select that, there'll be an option to open and close the park.
Lets hope for that
