BestinSlots Review

The game is not bad but it was simply not ready to be released at this point. With 6 months or 1 year more development many aspects like the repetitive fighting could have been much better. No we have to wait for this time to go by and see what Frontier does with it.

32 hours and all missions and goals finished, all items unlocked, then Yamiks will come and say 'the GRIND' as Dan@IGN.. They are dinosaurs, they got extinct and their brain was the size of a nut.. So the AI doesn't make but justice here!!! :D

Yeah, I'm kind of going into this like it was an early access title. Sad that FD didn't get more time to develop it, but I'm confident that it will quickly improve.

Even though less likely, Universal possibly could have rushed Frontier in making the game for the release of the movie, but I have no doubt that Frontier will make this the best game with patches, updates, and DLC's after the release.

To me this sounds like IGN was closer than all the 8/10 reviews. It is fun to play but lacking in almost every aspect. The fact that he admits that the AI is shallow says it all.

IGN can’t be taken seriously...
When Pokemon alpha Sapphire, a remake of the old sapphire, came out they listed as a minus that the game still has too much water like the original........
It’s a remake for a reason..

Sadly Universal rushed Frontier in making the game, but I have no doubt that Frontier will make this the best game with patches, updates, and DLC's after the release.

Please stop spreading lies. Universal did not rush Frontier. Frontier self funded and published the game. There is no reason for Universal to rush them cause they had no money involved in the project.

Of course Universal COULD have rushed the game. If the contract with Frontier included a release right after the movie it was Universal. Frontier got the license to create an original JW Game but therefore had to be ready with the movie release.

Exactly what PCMR said. If anything happened, it was that Frontier rushed themselves to meet with the release of Fallen Kingdom and the 25th Anniversary, and there's nothing wrong with wanting to do that. Unfortunately, actually going through that resulted in the drawbacks BIS went over. Regardless, we should not assume what may have happened, but we should look at what did in fact happen in front of us.

That being said, this is a very thorough, well explained review by dear BIS that goes over the notable strengths and weaknesses of the game. Even though this game does appear to be unfinished, there is a silver lining that many of the game's issues can easily be patched out or fixed as the game is built upon.

As I said, the contract between Universal and Frontier for obtaining the license could have easily included the rushed release date.

Right. But we don't know the details of said contract, so that claim cannot be made. It can be speculated, but not treated as factual.

Exactly, I just wanted to point that out. Could have been Universal, could have been Frontier. At the end of the day it doesn't matter who exactly was responsible for the rushed release.

Okay, no problem. My comment was more in response to someone who was claiming it as factual.

Bingo. A rushed release is a rushed release, and for a while it was clear that the game wasn't release ready (March demo build), at least not in terms of the AI, which I think need the most work out of anything. Now we must play, give feedback, wait, and see on what Frontier does next.

I fixed my previous post. Either way I'm pretty sure that this game will be buffed up after release with updates, patches, and DLC's which will in the long run make this the best JW game ever thus far.

You don't understand how game development works. Frontier was self publishing and funding the game. I doubt there was any contract cause there wouldn't be a need for one. Universal never contracted Frontier to make the game. Frontier approached them. All universal does is tell Frontier what it can and can't do with it's intellectual property. If Universal had funded the game then yeah they would have rushed them with a deadline. It's obvious that this deadline was self imposed. Not defending universal here, but at least get your fact straight and don't spout false nonsense.

Deadlines come from publishers wanting a return on the money they spent on having a game published. That's how it works. They want a return as fast as possible. They often push developers and yes they rush games. Cause they think the best way to get results is to rush people and impose a strict deadline. Then you have cases where developers take publishers money and publishers have to threaten them to get something for the money they spent on a game.

Also from a previous post about this a while ago I misspoke. There was probably a contract. But I doubt it had anything to do with when the game would be released.

not that I'm going to jump on bandwagons that everyone's already jumped on and broken but just one small thing to bear in mind - BIS review is based off of the game WITHOUT the day 1 patch

Not saying that to get everyones hopes up as of course the day 1 patch won't fix everything, but we don't know what's already been improved on. Having said that, not sure why BIS didn't get a copy and also get the day 1 patch downloaded before playing as I believe the reddit screenshot showed that the day 1 patch came early to whoever posted that...

Still, I will be remaining optimistic at the changes that will be coming with day 1 and with FK DLC. After that drops I shall return to air complaints, criticism and feedback alongside everyone else :)

Why does the game has no mod support then? Was that Frontier aswell? I know from other companys with Universal license that Universal can be a pain in the a** when it comes to their imagination of the perfect product. For example chronicle collectibles had to change the boxart of one of their JP figures a couple times before Universal gave them a green light for release. There HAD to be a contract between those for obtaining the license and what that contained we both can't know. So don't tell me that I am spreading nonsense when you yourself don't have any proof to back your claims please.

It has no mod support cause this game is using someone else's intellectual property. Universal probably doesn't want people stealing their Dinosaurs and sounds. I can guarantee this would happen. Capcom went after some mods for ARK cause they put model from their game Monster Hunter into ARK. JP/W is a much bigger franchise than Monster Hunter.

Notice Planet Coaster doesn't use anyone's intellectual property and it has mod support. That's the price you pay for wanting a game with the intellectual property of another franchise/company in it. If JPOG had been made today or in the last few years I can guarantee there would be no modding allowed.
