BestinSlots Review

IGN = PAID REVIEWERS = Bought and PAID for Opinions. That being said, I trust the YouTube videos of actual gameplay over anything the corrupt folks at IGN have to say. [yesnod] If it's not a COD title it won't get a good review. This game, after watching actual in-game streaming shows to be a knockout at release, with more to come.

I just watched this, and was amazed at how honest he was.. given he couldn't control himself from exploding from excitement this last week.

Its a good review, and has the perfect perspective of coming from a jp/jpog fan.. the point of view is closest to how many of us think.

I just jumped over to reddit and its hilarious over there, funnily enough exactly like for Elite Dangerous. There's one or two community sanctioned complaints, and they stack on these with passion, but then aggressively burn down any negative opinion that isn't on the list. Crazy.

EDIT: Frontier have a good track record with maintaining games, though for Elite dangerous, it was sold with an included "10 year roadmap" on the tin, so people knew it wasn't finished. Planet Coaster is kinda a hardcore niche, not sure how the more mainstream audience is going to take JWE, and what frontier will conclude if it also just becomes a jp nerd game. Another interesting thing is, elite has a well visited cosmetics shop to justify a long term development effort of reasonable size. I can't imagine they would keep Elite or JWE going without something like this, but so much is already in the game i can't imagine why you'd buy any more...?

People are using ED as a comparison which is wrong cause ED is a huge game. This game isn't even that size. What Frontier has done is pretty big though. They brought us some pretty high quality Dinosaurs. I look at it as they got the Dinosaurs so everything else will come after.

Kind of funny since he was playing it last week, he knew exactly what the game was like

Really? Its different sure and has a server component and deep complicated systems that are frequently rebalanced.. Elite apparently has a team of about 100 developers. Given frontier has about 300 staff, you could guess that's how many they have on each game.

Yeah i hope so. While frontier do have a good track record, they are also pretty opaque, nothing comes out until they're ready. You're going to want to wait for first community stream where they say they're super happy and working on the first big patch.. and see how long jwe stays in the top 10 steam lists. Planet coaster did for a few months..

You could tell his love for jp was carrying it a bit, but there's nothing wrong with that. I know first hand that works from operation genesis. His criticisms were probably also from that perspective as well, ie, being disappointed how there was absolutely no story (so the dialog must be the tutorial). Everything else is exactly like he said, there's an unfortunate caveat attached to many of the positive aspects.

It is funny becuase I have read a few other articles that have said that they do have a story. I have no idea what to believe until I can play it in about 30 mins

I do find it odd that he rushed out a review before the game is actually released. If he knew about the patch he should have held back or waited a while to do a review. Not saying he is trying to do click bait but I don't see the point in pushing out a review before the official launch day for a game that you know has flaws.
