The chapter 4 details in ODs video have me excited for the game again

So, yeah, good work FD. I wish this sort of stuff had been started way back just after launch but I'm excited for the changes to mining and exploration (in fact the sensor and probe changes look great, would love them in other areas of the game like bounty hunting and salvaging).

Looking forward to putting my VR headset back on sometime soon.

Yeah, me too, especially with that spacelegs and atmospheric announcement. I can't wait to hide in the cargohold and steal a ship from Mars.

Glad to see this thread has so many replies given what they're adding to the game after all these years of asking. This actually looks half decent, there will actually be stuff to find out there for once! The exploration stuff especially so it looks like I'll be buying Horizons soon sicne they're actually adding what looks like some deep gameplay.

I'll avoid the hype train until I see the actual gameplay. It's good to see that they are still putting a lot of effort into the game though.

Given what's going on in mining and exploration, that we can find and mark mining goldmines and there's stuff to scan and discover out there, I'm certainly siding with FDev on this as this is exactly where the game needs to go (btw Fdev, there can never be enough stuff to discover, just make it rare!).

I'd love exploration to feel like a bit of a race tbh - that they says "OK there's stuff out there, who's going to be the first to find it?"

I am keeping my hypometre low at the moment. It all looks promising, but until we see it in action best not to get too excited. At least it has instilled a bit more hope that things are moving in the right direction like 3.1 did for me.

I think anyone that's read any of my past posts knows I won't just heap praise or false hope on FD but yeah this sounds like the right direction so cautiously optimistic and looking forward to putting my VR headset back on.

Not in hype train, but all what I heard was good. So it means devs move game in right direction at least as far core play roles of explorers and prospectors / miners goes.

You can always wish for more, but I certainly give thumbs up for intent. Now let's get those Feedback Forums going so we can discuss and argue at nauseum in detail :D

I might just buy Horizons and give it a go - it's what, a fiver now on steam? Or will they make it free later on? As long as it's not bug ridden, I think I'd like to try it out early on and see what's what (as well as refamiliarise myself with the game)

Yep, but you still might want to change that "OD" in the title to "OA" though.

Just a suggestion for clarification reasons.
