5 Star Matenceros

3 and a half hours into the game and absolutely loving it. But without even moving to Isla Muerte, I already 5-starred Matenceros. This is what I did

-6 Ceratosaures- 3 paddocks with 2 each and both feeders. One viewing gallery
-That one starter paddock is still in use as my stegosaurus, struithiomimus, edmontosaurus, triceratops. I have several each but slowly repacking my struthi's with other Dinos.
-Another herbivore paddock with huayangosaurs, dracorex, and chrichtonsaurus. This one is massive with 3 viewing galleries. I have found that the more the galleries per enclosure really helps the dinosaur score. And make sure to have feeders by one gallery, water by another and grassland/forest as the focus for another.

Buildings
I chose this through mix and match, but I have 3 restaurants, 5 gift shops,2 fast food and 3 clothing shops.also, I placed 3 hotels, all in between the carnivore exhibits and guest buildings. From my experience it is also important to place your guest buildings near the hotels. It is important to find your most traveled paths and place those there. I did end up upgrading to the deluxe paths for everything except power station paths. I honestly have no idea if that changes anything if I'm perfectly honest. It is unnecessary to have storm protection towers here, or even emergency shelters as those take up valuable space. In the end I will probably come back here to just put some Gyrosphere and Viewing Towers .

I hope this anyone else, I swear this wasn't all humble brag[money]

I'm at 4,5 star rating without half of the things you mention. :D

But I have a question you might've experienced. I'm gonna start a topic on it anyways, but since you have 5 stars you might have the same problem.

I have a mission where they want me to upgrade my small power station to upgrade 3.0. I've only unlocked 1.0? Did you experience this, or am I overlooking something here? :D

They start offering missions that require you to start playing the next island - I guess it's a hint that you can move on. You can always choose to discard the mission and get another, though there is an annoying timer until you can get the next mission.

4.5 stars (going for 5), 250k/min, $10m in the bank.
One huge paddock, two viewing galleries, contains: 8-9 Struthiomimus' (Struthiomimii?), 4 Triceratops, 5 Edmontosaurus, 3 Dracorex). Still need some Ankylosaurus, Chungkingosaurus but the paddock is starting to getting overcrowded, despite it's huge size.
One medium-sized paddock, two viewing galleries, contains: 3 x Ceratosaurus (1 is heavily modified for aggressive traits).

1 hotel at the end of the large luxury path, surrounded both sides by 3 of each building type (gift/fast/clothing).

Really enjoying this game.

Aaaah, PERFECT. Thanks for clarifying mate. I'll move on soon, so no problem. Almost at 5 star rating. And with 40 million in the bank I should be good :D

Of course the 40m doesn't travel to the next island :)

(Though if you leave fossils in the research centre I find they can be sold for an easier start - if you can afford a fossil centre on the new island, which isn't always the case)

Anyone else having problems with the draco’s? Even though they’re perfectly comfortable being in the paddock, all needs in the blue... yet they break out immediately and constantly as soon as they’re back in the paddocks?

Are you using upgraded fences? A normal light fence won't cut it I think.

I only have access to the standard fence, and electric fence... and powering an electric fence is way too costly.
Still, if the animal is content in its paddock, why is it breaking out every chance it gets?

Surely after the 15th escape attempt, even a docile animal would understand that escaping means it gets put on the naughty list, tranq’d and taken back to the paddock.... at some point it’d learn not to do that.

If they break out, something isn't in the blue ^^'

Are you 100% sure everything is in the blue? Unless raptors are different (more intelligent?) somehow, they should behave like all the others; if they happy and content, they have no need to break out. Otherwise I dunno, without looking at your save, I'd say it sounds like a bug.

Sounds like you can't afford raptors then :D I think as others have said they need more space. Raptors do seem to like the taste of customers more than goat - at least mine do. I need to try a larger paddock. Once I've caught them all again!

I definitely had problems with the Dracorex's at first, but the first thing I noticed was, despite hatching the first one into the loaded up main paddock on Matanceros, her Social and Comfort stats were buried at the bottom. This girl didn't try to break out, she hid in the trees and refused to eat and eventually starved to death. I made a whole new enclosure, filled it up with about 5-6 dracos, hatching them two at a time, and all the stats went back into the blue and they were all happy as can be. 5-starred Matanceros myself last night before moving on to Muerta, which definitely seems like more of a challenge. This is where the fun begins.....

I had the Dracos all happy, until the 6th hour when I suddenly got breakouts all over the island. I noted that some of the Dracos were content and onky 2 were uncomfortable, and it was those 2 that kept escaping. I am thinking that I ended up with too many of them or they had too many other dinos around them.

^ Just happened to me. Draco's lost their marbles and starting destroying fences. Guess there were too many dino's in the paddock. So I gave them their own. They happy now. ^^

confused on your success

So from my view, I've completed everything on the Isla Matenceros, and currently have about 4.5 stars (unlocked Isla Nublar). But further dig sites and research are locked, so I am limited to just 4 breeds of dino (all of which I've 100% genome). I moved on the Isla Muerte where I can now access new dinos at my existing dig sites, but how did you guys get these additional dinos without leaving Isla Matenceros?

I had new dig sites open up to collect Dracorex and Huayangosaurus DNA while on Matanceros. Not sure what unlocked them, I went to send an Expedition team out to collect fossils and there were new dig sites opened up, which had the two new species available. Maybe unlocked by missions? Caught me off guard, but I was happy to have the new species to get my park to 5 stars before I moved on to Muerta.

Ah, must have been from a mission...
