Looking good

Game is looking good, reviews are starting to come in. While I don’t put much stock in “professional” reviews, they do offer some insight. One common aspect I’ve read is that the game doesn’t have much meat on its bones. Is this true in the opinion of those who have played it. And if so, do we think there’s a chance FD will be adding more fleshed out features.

I see a complaint like that and also see a coinciding release of a movie within the same property and my mind immediately goes to rushed out too early. Call me paranoid. I’ll likely buy the game but if it’s as bare as it sounds, may wait to see if any more features are fleshed out.

The game is fine if you like management games. I would say it's great and a lot of fun. There is some room for improvement though and Frontier has a reputation for doing that post release. It seems Frontier wanted to get the game out by certain date, so I agree it was probably rushed a bit.

I do like management games. From announcement this game sounded like a next gen refined JPOG. Which tickled me pink. I’ll be looking into buying for sure.

Didn’t expect a sequel, spiritual successor came to mind during the dev showcases and pre release. Which I’m fine with.

Yeah the game is quite lacking and feels rushed sadly. What is there is great, but it comes down to what is enough for you, as a lot is missing. I'm not so sure for myself and on the fence for a refund. If you want something in particular, please ask what you expect as there is a chance it is not in the game.

As for adding some of the missing stuff down the line, don't rely on that. Only buy games for what they are, not what they could be. If it was purely Frontiers IP, I would say it is almost guaranteed to be updated a lot. But the fact it is a licensed game makes be believe they will be bound to terms and may not be able to. There is even a chance it could be abandoned at any point due to a loss of license for example.

Frontier are great, but if they had full time and control, I can't help but feel it would be released in a better state.

Frontier had complete control over the game itself. They had to do what Universal told them as far as the use of their IP was concerned. Otherwise Frontier wasn't rushed by them.

Sadly, I’ve accepted that games get released and 99% of the time require patches and updates to add the rest of the planned features. Even if the consumers didn’t know they were planned. It’s the new (now old?)model made possible by DLC. If they’re free updates, I can usually deal. If I’m to be charged 19.99 for what should have been there at launch, I’m hesitant. I’ve been watching comments on this game and it sounds like the foundation is there and works well. I will likely wait to see any future plans for he game. Or one helluva sale if there’s no additions/changes planned.
