Modes This is precisely the reason i stay out of open

If you look through started threads, one of them is called 'congratulations to the fuel rats', and Becks (former Fuel Rats PR person) and I talked about it in length during that thread.

Ok, I searched for the thread, found it, read some pages searching for the relevance to this post, found nothing, the only common thing is "Fuel rats".
If I would have known of your enviousness I clearly would have abstained from answering anything here.

There are issues with the game and the developers, clearly. But nothing too severe as I am still playing (since release). My advice would be: don't take the issues you see in game and in Fdev's way of doing/not doing things too important and too personal. Don't start to fight a running battle against Fdev, or stop it, for your own personal happiness.

(Over and out)

How long ago was this incident?

By the way, the responses from the community to people sending you hatemail, was that it was inexcusable, and shouldn't be tolerated and urged you to report all info to frontier so those who were responsible would be removed from this community.

Weirdly killing fuel rats has created some fantastic emergent content.

We need more

Wow - you dorks take this stuff quite seriously, don't you? I've seen Goose's posts before & it seems to me if anyone deserved being targeted IRL, it is someone who has no wit of his own & resorts to vicarious memes as a substitute.

...thank goodness for the brief respite from the 'King of Whimsy' in this thread, though!

So you missed Becks first post which confirms what I said about the naming/shaming of a fuel rat assassin in a galnet article, which is why I made reference to that thread?

As a sidebar, its not about envy or what not. For me its about a level playing field for all players and groups, regardless of how intertwined youve become.with the developers.

Again, if you read my original point it wasnt about the reaction to my response, but that someone had been personally attacked due to circumvention of Name/Shame rules to the point they ended up wiping their internet presence, including their linked in accounts.

Regarding myself though, if you think sending someones wife an email making vague allusions to setting fire to their house because you disagree with their outlook on espaceships, I kind of feel sorry for you.

It was back at the tail end of when you could.still.submit galnet articles. I'd pull the big thread on reddit for you, but my ships 'net connection blocks reddit.

Fuel Rats are awesome; saved my bacon on Thanksgiving last year. They did it free of charge and were as humble as all get out. Is there a group or initiative to go and headhunt those who kill them? I would join up! Seriously.

Where I live recently Firemen were striking because when operating in specific neighborhoods they regularly got agressed by a specific type of residents. But even that ain't gonna ever be on the schedule of the fuel rats. Like worky ants on their way to gather Food they don't stop working a second if one of them gets squeezed to death on its way.

I have no opinion on the Fuel Rats because I'm a good pilot who knows how to manage fuel.

Fuel Rats are for n00bs.

I stand by that statement.

If a Fuel Rat dies, he dies. They aren't special.

Wow, I'd bet you don't tip waitresses or waiters, either.

Seems some need to learn what "service" really means.

You say that but ...

That statement ... also known as an opinion.

They are special in that they don't expect to get paid. Many would have gone: I fly all that way, what's in it for me?
They are special in providing actual emergent content which is relevant to the context of the game.
They are special in that they don't do politiks. If you don't have fuel, they will, no questions asked.

I say that the matter of being competent is a fact. Fuel management is a skill. If you rely on others to survive, you've got a lot to learn about being a CMDR.

I know what I said isn't popular... That's precisely why I said it.

Like it or not, the fact that I've never needed a Rat makes me a better pilot.

Although I make sure I always have fuel in my vehicle I don't view people who do run out of fuel with contempt.

Conversely, I suppose that does that make me a better "human being".

I'm a rat although I never needed one as well in 800 hours gameplay. I understand what you mean but be reminded that failure is human. Even Veteran IRL pilots happened to fail. Even Veteran ingame fuelrats, from who'd you expect that they master fuel Management better than any other commander, had to call their collegues in an emergency case. I certainly don't wish it upon you but bear in mind that it could happen to you too, how good you may be. Stay humble, for pride will have a fall.

You said Fuel Rats are for Noobs. That's a an opinion and it's wrong to boot. Many an experienced CMDR has lost sight of the fuel gauge while exploring.

I suspected that. Not because it's true, but because it was edgy.

Like it or not, the Fuel Rats are more awesomely special in this game that you (or I) will ever hope to be.

It won't happen. My galaxy map settings make it impossible. It's that easy.
