Game just got an update on Steam

Probably just performance and stability hotfixes. The game got released a few days ago, so don't expect much aside from fixing the most pressing problems.

bearing in mind the 2GB console patch had 2 lines of notes I can't imagine it's worth even writing patch notes for 186MB

I'd prefer Frontier release full complete and detailed patch notes. Surely they have to write a complete changelog internally detailing exactly what crashes they fixed and what bugs were squashed so I'd like fully detailed notes eventually. But for the size there's probably very little that's actually changed

So I have noticed my game looked a bit blurry. I just turned off TAA, I was using the upscaled version. I notice how much sharper everything is. But also man does this have some jagged edges. lol

What are PC players using for AA in this game?

Upscale TAA appears broken. Very blurry. TAA works well or forced FXAA. Nothing looks awful as the game looks too “sharp”

Hopefully the patch notes are more detailed than those for the consoles, hehe.

Well I'm running everything on it's max possible settings. No blurriness or jagged edges (have screenies in our JWE Screenies thread).

Well, whatever it was, it wasn't the edge scrolling that fails after certain dialog screens, like the Dig-site and Fossil extraction, there may be other situations where this happens, but these two are the most notable ones.
Overall though I must say the game runs very steady and smooth over here, so no complains here. [smile]

Yeah that’s a pretty generic patch notes… Something like that reads to me “we don’t really want to tell you what we did” LOL

Not really… it was 168MB. That’s only 4.1% of the game

4GB=4096MB

The executable is 285 MB… And that’s what probably was replaced… It makes sense because the executable would probably compressed down to about 168 MB

Same here. I am running the game at 1920x1080 which is my monitors native resolution. Using the maximum TAA setting. I noticed when I turned it off the Dinosaurs were so sharp and wonderful looking. But then the game gets some really bad jagged edges. lol

I guess I will turn TAA back on which I believe is temporal antialiasing.

Yes TAA is temporal Aliasing and DONT use scaled TAA it blurrs the picture quite a lot but gives a huge fps bump. TAA is meant for 4k imo there you have zero blurriness and zero jaggies with it. For 1080p which is very blurry with TAA(general a blurry resolution after you have seen 4k). I would leave it to off or Fxaa or anything different available in gpu driver.
