I hope they boost the Nublar map size with the FK update.

Played Nublar for the first time today. Had great visions of having a large enclosure each for Cretaceous USA, Jurassic USA, Cretaceous China, Cretaceous Canada with dinos from those areas in as well as a Carnivore Kingdom featuring the Meatasaurus'.

Half the map was taken up already by Cretaceous USA, Jurassic USA, main street and my powerplants/ACU/Ranger Station. I had enough space to build a decent T-Rex, Spino and Metricanthrosaurus enclosure before I ran out. It doesn't help that the incubators are so obnoxiously huge either.

It's so limiting. Ridiculously so. I know it's been said before but it warrants mentioning again. There's no way you can fit all the species in unless you cram them up in small, ugly exhibits.

It's what needs fixing the most. Nublar needs to be doubled in size. At least.

All I ever dreamed of for a new JPOGish game was to build a Park on the whole Island of Nublar. Of course not 1:1 scale but at least with almost correct geography. I really hope this will be implemented at some point by the devs or at least with mods.

Wasn't it mentioned previously that Nublar is larger than the maps of Planet Coaster? I haven't played on it yet, just checked it out quickly but it looked significantly smaller.

I thought whole of Nublar was what we'd get. Or at least bits that were recognizable as Nublar.

Because this doesn't even look like Nublar. It could be any old map.

When Nublar sandbox was mentioned pre release, it was compared to the largest plaent coaster map, I think even BiS did a video showing the size of that map. That map looked huge, Nublar...nah. I recently checked out nublar myself to find myself dissapointed. I have small les here and there but nothing has stopped my enjoyment of the game other than seeing Nublar look smaller than anticipated and well "meh". I do hope they increase it abit.

Sorna is supposedly bigger than PC.

And it's decent sized, but has a whacking mountain in the middle.

Haven't played pc so the build able area might still be bigger.

I just got to the Nublar map last night, and I couldn't believe how small it was when I saw it. I heard people say it was underwhelming before, but I didn't expect it to be that bad. I agree, the map needs to be AT LEAST doubled in size because right now, it's ridiculously small. I doubt it will be updated with the FK dlc though.

I don't get why there are any limitations. Let the Player decide how big his sanbox map is . Either my computer can handle it or it doesn't, that is my concern not theirs. And saying that, the game is so perfectly optimized that I believe even mediocre rigs could handle a 1:2 scale Isla Nublar.

Edit: But guys we have to be patient, this wil most likely not change a few weeks after release.

It's something what needs fixing quick whilst people are still playing. So I hope it's something frontier have worked on

I'm not a programmer but it doesn't seem a hugely difficult fix to move the mountain ranges back to spread the build able area out.

I'm gonna put my plans on creating a JW on hold until the patch. Gonna instead create a few more, fun islands.... Fancy creating a rally course or something lol.

Baffling decision to make it so small.

I mean, why? Surely they didn't think we'd be satisfied. There's no reason for Nublar to be so tiny. None at all.

It should be at least double the size.

Fair play,

(Meanwhile) As money isn't a thing there, does mainstreet need to be big? 1 large powerplant I'd think?

And a (also meanwhile) single incubator. Gate them. If you power down one feeder and switch on another, the dinosa follow the money so populate the enclosure furthest from the incubator first, then top up later with release, dart, move?

(Not sure what happens to peoples existing Nublar's if the map gets changed, eek. Luckily though, I don't have to be the one to answer that question! Though I would say I'm thinking to house my eco-correct animals across all the islands, not just cram them all into Nublar. Sounds a bit of a headache to me when I could just jump into a helicopter and go see my ceratopsia)

Well but then we have a golf court like valley double the size. I want to have the original layout of nublar with valleys, plains and mountain ridges. The diverse layout makes such a map really interesting, hence why I like Matanceros the most.

Makes it look good though having a big, proper mainstreet. Hatcheries, yeah can have one but, how time consuming is that to dart a Dino, move it, dart, move etc. Especially with ones who get angry if they're alone. By the time your Dracorex has company, the first will be butting the barriers.

Yeah I'd love a proper Nublar but I'd settle for just a big map so I can actually make a good park.

Double the size and make it look like it is the lower half of the proper island. Something like this. I can't enjoy building in a single valley, it just looks unnatural.

Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily do it like that to populate. Suggest you can use gates - and sleight of hand with which feeders you switch on - to populate the island in waves. However, if you've had any raptor escapes, moving quite a few at a time isn't that bad. Yes they're in the air a while but you can schedule four or five darts at a go and there doesn't seem (to me so far) to be a limit on the transport heli's at all. You can leave tranquilised animals to sleep in the release pen while you incubate the rest, as long as you don't release any predators.

I assume the maps are kept relatively small deliberately to put a soft cap on dino numbers and keep performance satisfactory. I’m not expecting any maps to be enlarged.

I don't think so. BiS made 600 Struthis before is computer gave up. I guess even with bigger maps people won't produce much more than 100 or 200 max., you can't have that much animals in one Paddock anyway because of the prefered population size in their stats. And again, that is up to us, if we want to overheat our computer then let us do that. Everybody can see that this game is very good optimized and runs very smooth even when the maps are bigger like Nublar or Sorna.

It would be good to have a couple more large valleys in the map and thus be able to recreate Jurassic World from the movie.

As part of the update, there could even be a campaign mode set after the events of Fallen Kingdom; the aims would be to rebuild Jurassic World and restore the island to its former natural glory and beauty.

Or maybe we might get a whole new island.. to the ones who saw Fallen Kingdom already.. knows which island i'm talking about.
