Powerplay Equipped Power Play modules should be Open Only

Not really. You get more out of biweaves than you do Prismatics. Once your Prismatics go down you're probably pretty toast. I've had a lot of PVP matches against people with Prismatics.

Also there are so many Mine bombers out there right now plus reverb torps Prismatics are cool. But they arent great.

When people find this out after they get experience. Prismatics wont be anything special. There will always be one powered favored. Or more popular. Thats just how it goes with stuff like that.

Not a big deal.
I agree to disagree then, and I'll tell you why.

ImpHammers, APAs are all nice to have weapons for PvP, for PvE they are totally redundant.
The prismatics on my traders or anti-xeno ships give a real advantage though, not only in PvP.

But we will propably (hopefully!) never get taken all our shinies except one away :D

For combat ships, I do think Biweaves are better but for traders, Prismatics are the better choice I think.

Should have never had everything to begin with.

It takes 1 month to get a PP weapon. And then you swap around. That means it takes damn near a year to unlock everything. You were never supposed to have everything.

Prismatics can work for a trader. But there are many things you can do to bring those shields down pretty quick. There is some good balance. As well as stopping people using the FSD.

Citation needed.
Also, the game clearly disagrees with you.

You dont need a damn citation.

Just look at it. Its clear as day.

How are you supposed to get all those other modules if you are supporting your power and making your powerplay bubble grow. All while getting everyone elses module.

Like cmon. Use your head.

We can play this game all day or until one of us gets bored.
Look at the game, it clearly allows module shopping and getting all of them by switching powers.
Just look at it, it's there in the game. Who cares if my power's bubble grows or shrinks.
Come on, play the game...

I totally agree with you that this power shopping is bad or even stupid.
But I disagree with your opinion that one should not have all modules.
The modules are grossly different in usefulness and imbalanced.

That's why I try to tell you that Aisling will become the god-empress once you can pledge only to one power.
It's just that imbalanced.

And that's why I'm totally in favor of switching the modules to tech brokers, I mean it's already there in game.
But don't make people chose between powers for clearly imbalanced modules.

And I'm against any notion to take players modules away who "grinded" for them beforehand.
Doesn't mean it won't happen or that I would ragequit after such a move, but I'm firmly against it.

So what if they add another set of rewards to the PP system? Whats the reward or carrot to get people involved then?

There is always something at the end of the tunnel no matter what content there is.

If they do it again, you should only be able to use the module youre aligned with.

It follows that any modules gained through Power Play should also only be available in Open, as those modules were intended to be used for Power Play activities (otherwise, why would they only be available to PP players?)

as a carrot to get people engaged in powerplay. actually, that's the only reason many people do bother with powerplay at all. while it has some romanticism to it, there's no reason these weapons couldn't be accessible in some other way. forcing people into open is against frontier's beliefs. and, believe me, they are true believers. i bet they have rituals in the office and all ...

Some people will never get it. FD will never take away what has been earned before, "engineer upgrades?" FD can quintuple rewards in open, add fantastic new stuff in PP if it goes to open, I'll still be in solo and PG, as will many. PP may work better in the long run, but PP will lose so many players. The excuse that bots ruin the game is a technical issue, not a mode issue.
I await FD's answers.

We had our answer, another delaying tactic.
With comments of;

"Not in the short term, not in the mid term......"
"We are just investigating, nothing is planned...."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52kOyADxK5E&feature=youtu.be&t=2945

And so on.

After last years open bonus "grenade" and now the "open only" skae up, I swear Sandro throws these comments out and watches the carnage just as his own personal stress relief.
You know, long day at the office;

Cranky programmers to deal with, listening to the boss waffle on about investors, budgets, targets etc...
How to relax, how to let the stress go... oh there's and idea; "hey forums, what about messing with Power Play".....
*forums implode*
*little giggle escapes from Sandro*
Ahh that's better, now I'm ready for another dull meeting with Q&A.......

;)
