Modes So Open is the most popular mode according to FDEV

Seeing as it is now factually correct that the majority of players use Open.

That would make people in the other modes, the minority.

It has been very clearly stated by many people on this forum that we shouldn't cater to the minority.

That being the case, I assume everyone would now support making most features Open only and really push this main mode forwards?

Absolutely NPC and players should be treated exactly the same.

See, game mechanics would have to be tailored to suit that. The PvP potential would be massive as a natural outcome.

All PVP comes from PVE roots, we are just better at it.

But yes if we are going to entirely remove PVP from the game. We would need to create a separate universe for every single player to exist in.

See BGS and Powerplay is PVP using PVE tools. In exactly the same way PVP players use PVE tools to PEW PEW.

Now you can argue against that all you like, you will just be wrong.

Beds made, but its a better more knowledgeable bed because it found traveling and honking at RNG stars, a little skillless. Instead it got good at every type of quilting and even mastered hospitals corners with the sheets.

Pushing PVE mechanics for all players to use is a positive. The better players will find ways to adapt that into direct PVP. Even in a PVE focused universe.

Since the majority of players play in Open...no need for any changes to 'aid in moving players to Open'.

Also the minority cannot have that much of an affect on Open gameplay, right, so no need to change the rules of engagement..open should just accept that the matchmaking and instancing is so borked that they mistook player activity they could not see as solo/private (all those console players in Open have to be accounted for also)!

The many... So lock all major content to Open?

Let the minority of other mode players, play their way and not affect the majority of players. Makes sense tbh.

Although Open may be the most popular game mode, insisting that PvP is the most popular activity just because Open happens to be "defacto PvP" is completely incorrect.

I'm of the belief that now Frontier acknowledges this, perhaps they recognize that PPOO is really their best option in implementing a PvE/PvP flagging system for Open.

Oh, the wailing and gnashing of teeth when the PvP community finds out they get PPOO but it turns out PvErs finally get the entirety of Open to play in...

They are not making PPOO, they are just investigating the possibility of it.
Nothing is planned or in the works to that end.

Yup, 2 facts Frontier staff have given out;

1, majority of people play in open
2, majority of players don't engage in PvP (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?p=4808539&viewfull=1#post4808539)

And we now know that once again the idea of lifting Power Play to exalted status by making it more import in open mode was just another Frontier ploy to stoke the forums and distract us from the fact they have no new real content to add.

It is incorrect to say that most players are actively seeking direct-PvP, despite the majority playing in Open.

It is, however, factually correct to say that the majority playing the game are consenting to any and all forms of PvP by way of mode choice.

No exceptions, no special cases.
