I was gutted to hear this during E3.
When Microshaft was pitching the 1x they said it would be able to operate pc quality vr.
Once again Microshaft deserve their title.

It is a shame but honestly with the state of VR right now i think it is the best option. I'd rather they wait until they can provide a console and headset capable of high quality VR.

This. VR is cool, but there's noticeable quality difference between even a top tier VR setup & a monitor... In favour of the monitor.

VR is not good in ED. I have the best WMR you can get Resolution in all games and frame rate is excellent EXCPET ED ...

Last night playing i got 250 to 300 fps even close to a gas giant with rings in SC was getting 250 + In high res all setting at High some Ultra
.
VR i am lucky to get 60 and is usually low 30s
.
VR is Awesome, but the FPS ruins it
