A headshot for mindless ED fanboys who defend the game and don't look at it objectively would be good. :p
As opposed to those who are so determined to ply their doom'n'gloom discourse that they don't even bother to read and understand the article properly...

Go ahead and comment.
Sorry I get to comment on this thread.
No one will listen to you.

It seems to have no problem retaining people obsessing over it's health tho ;)

Yes, because we do care about the game's well-being.

I wouldn't comment about mindless fanboys not looking at things objectively after not reading your own article and jumping to your own preconceived conclusion.

The difference is I corrected the original post, and I don't endlessly defend ED. :p

Those are called pessimists. There's the middle-ground called objectivists.

Sorry I get to comment on this thread.

You did listen to me, because you replied, also you don't speak for everyone.

What would really make ED appealing to a mainstream gamer audience is by adding EVA and FPS gameplay. Because games like Grand Theft Auto and Mass Effect have proven to be much more popular than a simulator where you're stuck in a pilot seat.

Hear, hear! Add FPS gameplay to Forza as well--if it weren't just a simulator where you're stuck in a car, it too would sell as well as one of the best-selling video games in history. And everyone knows what makes the Mass Effect games special: the shooting. :D;)

No, you mindlessly attack it as the worst ever, it's not as if this is your first thread about this. :)

False, many of my threads are objective. Not mindless doom and gloom.

Forza is a racing simulator. ED is a space sim that simulates the galaxy. Part of simulating the galaxy is that we can do more than be stuck in a chair forever.

No, they're not. You are about as objective as Don Quixote.

Yes they do, and your comments in this thread is typical troll activity. You call people names and insult them.

You are about as objective as X. Replace the X with an insult.

I always thought that the vast majority of the player base bought direct from Frontier, alternatively PS4 or Xbox. None of these would show up on Steam.

Wikipedia claims that by August 2017 the game has sold 2.75 million copies and my understanding is that it is still selling. I've no idea how many active players there are, or even what constitutes an active player anyway.

These threads are getting so desperate nowadays.

Can you guys just quickly agree with them that Elite is a dead game? Maybe they'll find some other hobby and leave.

FDev's financials report announcement in January put franchise sales (Elite and/or Horizons, excluding consmetics) at 3.25m

Headshots are fun though :D

You forgot to mention that this was a reaction to the troll comment by the100thmonkey

"We really need an Elite-themed "headshot" meme - most gamers who aren't basically unlocks in JWE didn't get to experience Pure Pwnage in its pomp.

Somothing like a gif of a player getting insta-gibbed by a coriolis...
"

Sorry bud - you don't get to comment on this thread any more.

He also has the audacity to tell me that I cannot comment in this thread any more and calls me Don Quixote.

Totally! That's why i have a problem with Stellaris: insufficient fidelity!!
:D;)

Stellaris doesn't attempt to simulate being a pilot in a space ship... A better comparison for ED is Star Citizen.

As of 'Right Now' there are some 7000 PC users* playing Elite Dangerous through Steam.

And one of them will never be me because I don't have the game on steam, I play it like so many others... by clicking the ED launcher.

If you're wondering how many people in total are spending their time playing ED then I have no idea.

* stat available at the Steam & Game Stats page... Steam.

Let this be a salutary lesson to the audience as to why the humanities should never be neglected in a rounded education.

That you interpret the Don Quixote metaphor as an insult says a great deal about your education, Cosmo. Google it. Read. Learn.

I challenge you to show me where I insulted you. You having hurt feelz is not the same, btw.

But go ahead, tilt at windmills some more.

"How Good" (objectively) a Game is certainly ISN'T linked to how many current players it has...
Still LESS how much YOU as an individual enjoy playing it...

It's a niche market title (if it wasn't there'd be OTHER Space Flight/Space Combat games out there on the market
It's also 4 years Old (a lifetime in Gaming terms) and getting older...
So player numbers aren't going to be high...and they certainly won't ever get any higher...
Doesn't mean its not a good game tho'
