I recorded this song in 2009. It's called 'Crisis'. All the news broadcasters were calling the recession a 'crisis'.
Because I'm feeling low, I've decided to share this song. My hurt is no bigger or smaller than anyone else's. I'm going to write the lyrics here, because I know the sound won't be in everyone's taste, so, you don't have to hear it if it's not your thing, musically

Crisis

Picture, if you will, a circus made of stone
The rhyming slang of muted lips in an orchestra of bones.
Imagine, if you can, every grain of sand
The turbulence of days ahead is there within your hands.

Crisis.

Now, do you understand; can you show me how
If money makes the world go round, then where's it heading now?
And can you calculate the current interest rate
Of mortgages for war machines or food upon our plates?

Crisis

Tsunami's on its way, the tide is coming in
So when you surf the internet; you better learn to swim
The atmosphere's so close, above the storm clouds loom
Rolls of thunder from afar, you better shelter soon

Crisis

Imagine, if you dare, soldiers on the street
And Downing Street is up in flames,
Dead bodies at your feet
Threw caution to the wind, pretended you were blind
But one day, this catastrophe may not be in your mind

Crisis.

In addition, I want to add that I'm as guilty as everyone else with regard to a thread that got closed (mods, I understand, and I'm sure others do too). I have the utmost respect for everyone that voiced an opinion. I've made friends on this forum, through getting heated. In the end; we're only human. Sometimes, for me at least, you want someone to argue with and correct you. Or, transversely, you hope that other people will listen to your thoughts and not write them off as delusional or paranoid.

Above all, people need love in their lives.

To put conditions on love, is not love. No one should be made to feel they have to earn affection.

When love is valued, and unconditional, there would be no more war. There would be no desire for it.

I'm not a hippy.

I sound like one, though.

Please hug someone, today.

Interesting, never heard of Crass.

Suspect I would like them.
Crass are a legendary Anarcho Punk band. Crass have influenced awesome bands such as Conflict, Flux of Pink Indians, Icons of Filth, Sub Hum Ans and many others. Despite the music being punk the ethos they promote is basically a more aggressive kinda hippy. They appeal to left wingers but they are not left wing. They and other Anarcho bands don't buy the left/right paradigm. Crass and to a certain degree more Conflict influenced me to become Vegan and stand up for the voiceless. Shame now the protest movement has been corrupted by politically correct SJW's that protest pronouns and on one hand advocate the killing of babies in the womb, but preach cruelty against animals.

I dont think the OP deserved this... rhetoric in his topic. I am sure there are plenty of reddit subforums where this kind of stuff is more than welcome though.

I would argue human are violent by nature, it's the struggle to do good that makes the act all the more meaningful. Love and peace are a good sentiments on paper but don't survive reality. Mankind will be waging war and killing each other until the end of days if history is any indication.

The Crass song: Bloody Revolutions says it all. Left or right you can *** your politics.

I really understand Necronaught's point. He has every right to say that. As do you. As do I. Hope you read my lyrics, I spent most of my life writing songs. I've got about 60 songs in different states of completion. I can't make them sound like number 1 records because I don't have the recording skills.

I think the lyrics of this song are just as poignant now, as when they were written:

I'm not being sentimental. Violence is essential to survive. love and peace, if it's just a hippy sentiment. There is no peace inside, when you run away from the bully and stay awake imagining how you'd Bruce Lee his brains in. I've been in football fights in the past. More for a sense of belonging. Sociologists describe it as 'tribal'. and write papers on it. The truth was, that young men were ignored and shoved aside whilst politicians and bankers lined each others pockets. So, we all let off steam.

Nowadays, you'll see blokes in their fifties from rival clubs meeting up and going out together. Go to any Scooter rally in Britain and you'll see it.

The 'struggle to do good', is the struggle to be heard and understood, I think.

Yesteday's hooligan, could be today's John Lennon.

My old Punk band got together to record our songs in our flat.
I'm still trying to get the mixing right.
This song is called 'Conscience'
https://soundcloud.com/geoffcattle/conscience-v10

Lyrics:(written when I was about 20, so take that into account)

And now you feel it
Anger from within
You earned your agony
Now you see that

I

am your worst enemy and
I

Lurk in the shadows, and I cut you like a knife.

The broken window, you never mended
It let the cold in; my icy fingers

I!

The diary, you never burned
The memories; will you ever learn?

I am your worst enemy and,
I lurk in the shadows and I cut you like a knife
Papers strewn, across the desk
The upset file, in office mode
The divorce, you regret
Now your kids, have all gone away

This Conscience, This Conscience, This Conscience
On and On and On and....

I am your worst enemy and
I lurk in the shadows
And I cut you like a knife

Cut you like a knife

Cut you like a knife...

I am your worst enemy and I lurk in the shadows, and I cut you like a knife. The broken window, you never mended, it let the cold in;my icy fingers..I!

The office block
That you leapt off
It still stands tall
Above the paving's blood stained epitaph

And now you feel it
Anger from within
You earned your agony
Now you see that

I....
