As always, I'll just sit on the sidelines and when Sq42 drops pick it up, and enjoy my OTT space opera populated by A/B/C/Below list hollywood talent
Based on the chaps I game with, I think there's a bigger demographic than you expect who have a similar ethos.
It's a pretty big assumption to say you'll "enjoy" it at this early (lol) stage. What if it's released and it's absolutely mauled by reviewers? Will you still pick it up? Will the rest of that demographic? There's a very real chance that the relatively large potential audience won't materialise if the game ends up being a load of old toss.
I'm also in it for Squadron 42, but even given my flat-lined expectations I was surprised how little they had to show at the much-hyped holiday (not-)livestream. They're coasting on fumes right now with SC, relying on the sophisticated emergent gameplay experience provided by disgruntled backers creating blockades in lieu of actual content, but even in a completely controlled demo they had nothing for the offline game other than what looked like a tedious walk-through of some assets ripped hastily out of SC.
There's still a chance that Roberts' "so bad it loops all the way past good and back to bad again" writing and direction might at least provide some car-crash entertainment value, but I wouldn't buy it for that alone if I hadn't already paid for it during the Kickstarter.
