PvP To the Low Life who Killed my Unarmed and Unladen Hauler Today

I understand the need for venting. :) But if losing the exploration data frustrates one, they should think hard in which mode they fly when they are going to cash it. Or have prepared for the possibility to be interdicted / attacked by having some escape strategies thought out and practisd, and having equipped / engineered their ship with that in mind too.

Well, you can of course always fly in Solo unless you want to wing up. But is this the solution to an obviously still non-deterring C&P system? This guy will be able to pay off his 6000 or something credits of bounty after one hour in any Interstellar Factors bureau. How about interlinking the height of a bounty with the amount of the criminally destroyed assets?

And forget about escape strategies in a Hauler with a 2D shield generator.

When out of the bubble - exploring and Gaurdian hunting I turn my Shield off( it helps scooping) and as soon as I hit civilisation turn it on—- it has saved me millions

To me it’s just a matter of weighing up the pros and cons.

What kind of rewarding player interaction did you achieve while earning those 3m credits of data in Open? Because unless you enjoyed doing it it with a gang of mates that Chieftain is the only ‘winner’ in this scenario.

That CMDR ruined your day, but you allowed him to do so.

They should just rename Open to PVP. Then maybe people will finally get it...

Something interesting in what you say there.

I posted about this recently.

1. Iridium wing escorts explorers to safety.
2. Which station did you choose to dump your data at? A good one is either just into the bubble, or if you have a specific faction in mind, one with a very short, or very long supercruise is best.
3. Scanner vigilance. When you jump into your destination system take a look at the scanner for hollow dots. What are they, do they respond to hails?
4. Station vigilance. Is their debris? Heat sinks? Are ships waiting around the exclusion zone?

Sorry for your loss, hope you can use it to learn lessons for the next time.

It's your fault. There is a reason why my trips out in my Cobra see said vessel armed, shielded and powered by the best engines available.

Hauler is trash, and you said that much yourself.

But, but... That would be hand-holding! Can't have that...*

*Yes we can, actually, in fact, we need it.

OP, what have you learnt?
What will you change in your behaviour, your actions and plans when you fly in the ED universe?

not just anywhere in open but nanomam, a powerplay head quarters. Powerplay being the game that sandro is toying with the ide of moving to open only to force more pvp. To any combat powerplay guy you being a cmdr in a hudson system would have looked like you were using the hauler as a cheap transport ie going to get the ship yourself. By anychance were you hudson pledged? And what about the alegience of thecmdr who killed you?
