Hardware & Technical whats all this?

Same shenanigans that brought about Windows XP N and 7 E. Probably not a bad ruling, but corps always seem to get away with a passive-aggressive idiotic adaptation.

Now if this means Android gets relieved of all the mandatory Google crapware, I'm all for it, but I'm not holding my breath.

Politicians meddling with tuff they don't understand again. Lol

I buy google android phones to use, shock horror, google android apps and services...

Now I'm going to be annoyed if I buy a new phone and I get ask 5939 questions about what frickin' browser I want, and if I want to use Google maps, music, etc etc.

With windows and internet explorer, it was fine, because no one wanted to use internet explorer... Lol
But literally, it's a GOOGLE powered phone. You can download other apps if you want. What's the problem?!

Why isn't Apple being force to ship phones without Safari, and all the other crap they include?

It's as bad as this annoying new cookie thing. I can't visit any page without a gigantic pop up telling me about cookies, and if I accept them.

I don't care! Just get out of my way!

With Android being the absolutely dominant force in the "smart"phone market (over 80% market share), any competitor is unlikely to be considered "abusing a monopoly".

That's the passive-aggressive part; sites could of course choose to not spray your information and tracking data all over the Internet and drop the notifications entirely.

I preferred it when websites just hoarded cookies like a cookie monster, and did it quietly. Lol

I really don't care if someone knows my browsing habits. Lol

It's like targeted ads.
If I'm going to have to see an ad, I'd rather it be something I'm actually interested in, than have to sit through the latest hair dryer commercial, or candy crush advert!

I didn't realize android has an 80% market share. I thought it was only 50~%...?
What's happening to all the iSheep?!

What's happening to all the iSheep?!
About 15%, and Apple is not marketing their OS to third-party manufacturers. They are their own little inbred fringe system.

Google is pushing their OS to manufacturers, but at the same time prohibits them from shipping devices running modified versions of the OS like Cyanogen or however it's called at the moment (I call those forks "symptoms"), and heavily "encourages" manufacturers to push Google search services which are abused by Google as a sales channel while pretending to be somehow "fair" (something else they were fined several Milliard Euro for).
