The best mod is currently overcharged, which gives almost the same damage as double shot/rapid fire but without burning up your ammo supply.

Screening shell cuts the reload time in half.

My god.. who flies like that?
I think that video was posted in jest, but ramming in a Cutter is the smartest move you can make.

Without any shadow of a doubt, the Cutter has the most powerful shields in the game, and also the most momentum (velocity x mass). I'm not even remotely joking when I say that a Cutter's highest dps (by far) is boosting into someone. Notice the very deliberate shift to 4 pips in SYS just before the first impact. This guy may look like a noob but he absolutely knows what he's doing.

Aware of all that, but bleh.

Technically Rapid Fire has the highest DPS (bonus to fire rate *and* reload speed) but it chews through ammo fast and it has the least damage total due to slight damage-per-shot penalties. Doubleshot is a little more damage overall while still being ammo-hungry. High Capacity is interesting for the doubled ammo but I'm not a big fan of the way it works; often it's very zoom-and boom and I can't count on time-on-target to make best use of the extra rounds in the magazine.

Overcharged is my preferred mod due to its staying power; at 3/180 my Pacifiers last quite a while when all three hits (from all three Pacifiers) make a hell of a dent in anything.

Lightweight, Sturdy, or Efficient would just be... wrong.

Hey, I remember you!

OP, here’s some frags on a clipper as well as a Pacifier on my Krait. Pacifier is doubleshot, Drag munitions.

Nice Combat Cmdr!

What App/Program is that working at the top of your screen giving you 'Intel' on ship scans?

Except that was a Clipper, not a Cutter. The Cutter's engines don't howl like that.

D'oh!

I didn't watch it with sound but I should have worked out it wasn't a Cutter from the fact that it's actually turning. Cutters only turn when you boost; I mean - you can point a Cutter's nose in any direction pretty easily but it'll carry on travelling in the original direction for years unless you boost. I presume it doesn't have infinite drift, but it definitely has more drift that I ever had patience for ;)

That only happens to the Cutter north of the blue zone. If you have your speed under control, and aren't more than maybe a bar out of the blue it rides on rails. Makes it easy to take through the slot of a coriolis at 170~ m/s. You really only get drifts if you've got the throttle pegged out of the blue zone or add a huge amount of vertical/lateral thrust to a maneuver.

so overcharged is better then double shot for frags these days?
well I suppose it makes sense, double shot actually has lower DPS on both corolis and EDshipyard.
that said the screening shells just halves the reload time right, and nothing else?

OC/SS, Corrosive is best applied by a MC. Since it's velocity is much higher than Frags, you can ensure the effect is applied before the Frags land.

Double Shot's meager DPS advantage over OC isn't worth the loss of efficiency IMO.

Did fdev nerf double shot or something? It seems that on Corolis it gives far less spa then overcharged

Take note of your effective damage. Double shot does more damage in practice as you have a 2 shot burst, so 100% more damage per trigger pull. Overcharged "only" gives a 70% damage buff per trigger pull. However as mentioned, you'll probably find you're needing to restock more often as you're getting through twice the ammo.
