Yes and the asset get given to another faction but i cannot remember if it is a random faction or the leading faction.
Leading faction (by INF), but doesn't have to be the controlling faction, I believe.
But remember, retreat doesn't work for a native faction in its own system.

This is correct. (On both counts).
Good info. Whenever we forced a retreat we were the controlling faction and had the highest influence. So, the controlling faction takes the prize.
