Good luck with the new dentist. Ask them to use a numbing gel first before injecting the proper anaesthetic. My dentist does (as the practise knows I had a long running fear of dentists ever since (through no fault of his own) one nearly killed my younger brother (Alex is one of the very rare people who is allergic to that particular anaesthetic). You try telling a nine year old child that the dentist didn't mean to nearly kill his five year old brother; it doesn't work!).

Remember, good dentists do not actually WANT to have to do any dental work; they would much rather help patients keep good dental health. If they have to drill a tooth (or other dental work) it means that things have not worked as planned.

If you can afford to get one, a good electric toothbrush really is better than a manual one. My Mum got me one for my birthday a few years ago, and my dentist has noticed the difference. Mum got me an Oral B Pro 2000 during a useful sale.

2-3 injections in the gum is not insurmountable

:)

tell him to use the hammer :D

My dentist gives you Valium if you are a nervous patient, I'm not, I don't mind the dentist but for my visit I'm terrified. I like Valium.
