Landing Pad 13!!!

It's a massive pain in the docking slot.
There's a number of pads that are "right by the door"... like 34, 16, etc
Once you play long enough you'll learn to appreciate getting pads right next to the doors, especially if you're into the "racing" events
Quick landings and take-offs shave valuable seconds off the clock!

Full Stop. Z-100m, Check compass. Left or right.
Pad 16 is similarly a pain in the slot - as someone else put it so well!

I can never tell if it's above or below, always get it wrong, pad 13 is the worst

oh and you don't need map I don't think... I read somewhere (I'm abroad away from my desktop so I can't check it) that the small radar tells you where your landing pad once inside the space station.
If someone can confirm this, or the opposite, I would be grateful.

Yes, it does. I didn't find that out for ages!
Don't mind them at all. They're really easy to launch from. Once you get to know which numbers are close to the dock you just learn to cut power and roll/dive as soon as you enter.
