Question on ship types (noob)

The time has come for me to purchase my first ship. I like the hauling aspect of this game a lot plus my pc is too crappy to do pvp with it but transporting is already a blast, so I wanted to buy a ship.

I see that there is a ship for sale known as only "Hauler". I tried to look up info on it, but in vain. Does anyone have a link where I can see how the hauler looks like?

There is another one known as "Type-6 Transporter". Any info on that would be great too.

Perhaps a recommendation for the dev team could be to make a nice screen where you can see all the ships and their stats before you buy them.

Anyway, as a noob here, I surely also accept recommendations how to proceed :)

Let's say I do get a hauler, does it take much longer to initiate warp (longer than the sidewinder?). Asking because I had twice now some players try blow my beansprouts up but I was always fast enough to get out after being interdicted, but I need to know if I am getting a real slow boat with little chances of survival, so in that case I rather stay with a smaller faster ship. Please let me know and thanks in advance !

The one known as the hauler is actually called just that - 'hauler'. Not all stations have every type of ship available, if you can't find the ship you want at one station then you have to try another.

I can't remember for certain but I seem to remember Aulin often has haulers for sale.

If you are interdicted it's an NPC. Players cant do that - yet.

The progression I used was sidewinder(4tons capacity)-hauler(16t)-cobra(36t)-Type 6(100t)-Type 9(440t!!) Each upgrade dramatically increases your profits. Just make sure you keep at least 10% of the cost of your ship at all times to pay the insurance deductible(excess to brits I think). Also the type 6 and type 9 have greatly improved range over previous ships, opening up new trade possibilities.

Any of these ships can escape an NPC interdiction. As soon as you drop out of super cruise hit boost and FA off to maintain speed - then leave as soon as frame shift comes back online

Wow, I think that's the first share of my spreadsheet by a Mod!

:)

The Hauler is a good little ship as the next step from the sidewinder. after you buy it, take your first dock steady. It's not as nimble as the sidey! ;)

And keep your eyes open ....
