Agreed.
This is open to debate. Season 1 basically 1.1 to 1.5 should have been developing the core gameplay and maybe release powerplay last with much better core game it could have been much better. With Horizons yeah planetary landing were great. But what they did is develop the wrong stuff with horizons, like multicrew, SLF and passanger missions (I like these but it was the wrong time), engineers are debatable. What they should have done during horizons was concentrate on the planetary surfaces and what can be done down there.
I don't think their hearts weren't in it, I think they just developed the wrong stuff, or the right stuff at completely the wrong time. You could see from Sandro on some of the live streams that he was knackered and had put a lot of effort in. Fortunatly they have realised their mistake and this year are trying to put thing right. 3.1 with the much better trade tools, in my view much better engineers and a C&P system that still needs work, but it better then what we had, which was a C&P system that did nothing. Q4 we will be getting much better mining and exploration. A guild system with fleet carriers (guild home), better ice planets (they looked superb from what I have seen) with better and more intersting rock system, a massive lighting update (which will tie into atmospheric planets).
Are you wrong, honestly, I think so, but not that wrong if you understand what I mean. Of course FDev put money into developing other games, it's a good idea, but they also invested in ED at the same time. It's not like there were no updates coming out. They were just that some of them were the wrong ones which was frustrating.
