So what's a transaction error?

I've been playing Elite on the xbox for the last week or so pretty regularly and I've encountered transaction errors literally every hour that I've played.

My favourite transaction error was while fuelling up inside the cone of a neutron star which delightfully crushed my ship and sent me back to colonia when I was a mear 5k ly from Sag A.

Ouch. That is unfortunate. I have never seen a transaction error during the actual flight. I just occasionally get them in the outfitting.

Maybe you can try to contact customer support and ask them whether they could reset your position or save your exploration data.

I cant edit any bookmarks or make new ones or i get a transaction error. :( how come it lets me delete them then? Transacts that bit just fine.

The transaction error means that the central computer that keeps track of your pilot's license has determined that something doesn't add up with what you're doing so it figures you must be doing something illegal and shuts the transaction down. Please don't be alarmed: The police, who will soon be knocking on your door, are there to help you recover from this erroneous behavior you have become accustomed to and will help correct this behavior by using conditioned response to help you learn the proper method of buying and selling things.

In other words, they will gently beat you into submission until you beg for mercy, screaming that you have learned the error of your ways and promise never to do whatever it was you did ever again.

If you're lucky, they'll be nice enough to apply a few bandages and actually tell you what you did before they leave.

Is that Master Neloth in your avatar? If so, it just makes your post better, when read in his voice.

No, but you can still read it in his voice if you wish.

The avatar is "Eldorf The Wise." He's the third character I created when I played Morrowind (for the third time).
His story can be found here: http://eldorf.tripod.com/
This took me 2 years and 9 months to complete (Morrowind and the two expansions).
Oblivion only took me about a year to finish.
Sorry, I never did one for Skyrim.

I'll be contacting them to move my account over to pc. Granted i'll lose all progress and engineering stuff but I'll at least have some starting cash.
