PvP What is the hardest to Gank ship?

Any ship with a decent build and a competent pilot. Otherwise, strangely I'd vote the sidewinder. 660 boost and 1000 hull when built right.

Some weeks ago I was interdicted in my Corvette by two cmdrs in Cobras. By then the ship was not engineered at all, still I had no problem to low wake out with my shields almost completely intact. They tried it three times altogether and every time I got away unharmed.

So I'd guess the Corvette shouldn't be an easy target, too (especially if engineered).

I like the Vipers personally, silent run them, they are little murder machines, witha little practice and some clever engineering you can make people's day very miserable with those two ships.

The ICourier, IClipper and the Orca are objectively better if all you want to do is run away, but I don't rate coward builds as even slightly viable in real PvP, someone who can shoot will end up making you spend more time running for your shield that you will ever get to lay down any significant damage.

The ship flown by an experienced and prepared cmdr.

Yup. Rep+ If youre comfortable in the ship and you knwo what you're doing, any ship can be hard to gank. (Still would say Vipers though)

I have a cutter and was ganked in it while at a CG a couple of months ago. FSD reset missiles go right past shields. They bypass MRP as well, correct? I'm not 100% sure if I had MRP. I didn't have any PDT and that's why I equip 2 of those now. I'm not the best pilot, but how in the world are you gonna juke left and right in a cutter?

Edit:
I would like to know how griefers/gankers think. But I suspect there are different categories:
Type A: Will go after anything, don't care what it is or difficulty level, just looking to kill somebody
Type B: Looking for combat ships only for the most challenge/fair play?
Type C: Avoids combat ships or focuses on noobs exclusively.

Type B - Maybe they prefer the big three? Most likely in this order: Vette\Cutter\Conda. If those aren't around they start ticking off a wish list like a big game hunter... "there's a T10, I never killed one of those before Muahaha. Lets get em boys." Hardest to gank probably comes down to which ship is most likely to get away due to possible counter measures, rank of target cmdr. I'm curious about what goes on in the minds of these griefers.

Personally I fall into B. Theres not a whole lot of fun in kiling things that can't put up a fight. Leave that to the "Salt miners" (Often total scrubs).

Also I personally hate gangbangers. If you can't beat a ship solo, don't attack it. Using four fully G5'd PvP builds to kill a single target, does not a skilled pilot make.

Not sure bout a cutter. Lots of shield cancelling weapons and engine disruptors too. A gank wing that has just one cobra with mines in it can do the job.

Hell a cobra can even take a cutter on its own if they tried.

But small fast ship..yeah that makes sense.

MOTHER OF GOD!
them some serious flying skills ! awesome

The posters who said 'Orca' are right.

The only true guarantee of survival is for shields to stay up from start of gank to wake.

My Orca boosts to 642 mps and has well over 2,000 Mj.

(And is basically mass-locked only by space stations or planets.)

Nothing - absolutely nothing - stops that Orca before wake.

Except another Orca....

A stock Sidewinder. When you get blown out of the aether by a griefer just laugh at them "ha ha this ship costs me nothing to replace"

Heh...

It would take a single, properly flown, PvP Orca between 5 and 20 minutes to break my shield. Between ten and a hundred times the time needed to high wake, with or without Grom Bomb.

By escape my first ring of shield would not even visibly have moved.

Completely gank-proof, even against four Orcas with the best synchronised drop an Orca gank wing could possibly achieve from interdiction.

Cuz, no way to get through the 5,500 effective shield hp in the submit high-wake timeframe, just as 4 PvP FdL's can't harm one properly defended FdL.

Lot of questions going around about the best PVP ship, or the best Multirole ship or what not.

But i never see anyone ask a more honest question; Whats the hardest ship to Gank?

I suppose any actual ganker is not going to reveal that ,but im curious as to what the rest might think.

The easiest ones are obvious so id like to see the other side of the coin.

There is no Ship that will Win a Fight when being Ganked.
The Combat System in ED is not very Skillbased in the First Place.
And when Groups Fight Skill becomes almost meaningless as the only Importand part is that you Coordinate enough to have everyone Attack the Same Target and pay Minimal attention to not get dragged too far away from each other.

In Ganking Skill becomes entirely meaningless because you are the only Target so everyone will follow you anyways and nobody can be seperated or waste damage output by firing at others.

Thats why.
Against Ganking you have only one choice.
Run Away.

Thefe is 2 Options for that.
Either you have a Big Tanky Ship that even with several Enemys will hold up its Dhields long enough to Jump.
Or you take a Fast Ship with Engineered Drives that can Run Away in Normal Space.

Needless to say that only Horizon Buyers can escape Gankers cause any unengineered Ship will always be with no chance to fight back or escape in time.
Thats also why ED is considered Pay to Win by most PvP Players.
In this Game if you dont buy the Expansions and thus keep up with the Power Creep you are simply not competetive for anything in PvP

Depends on. I fly an engineered corvette. Was gangbanged in a CG by a wing of FDLs and a Cutter. I admit, that I trusted too much in my shields and hull ( no high wake target, 2 sys pips ).
They shreddered my drives and FSD, so I was a sitting duck. Looking at the rebuy screen, I thought that with a really fast ship I could have made it. But what´s the point to that. I don´t play
ED to fly a ship that can stand a gankers wing. I fly missions, participate in CG, all that. So take the ship you need for a special purpose, engineer thrusters ( never bad ), don´t fly without shields
( station walls are hard too ) and BE AWARE. But I don´t think you can avoid to be ganked when you fly in Open.
