The drift update is here! A new drift chassis upgrade is available.

Completely changes the game. Lots of fun!

I have never got on with drifting. For some strange reason; I always want to correct the car. I love the American muscle cars, like the Mustang and the way you can use the back end sliding, to get around the corners. But that is as close I will get to drifting.

If you have FM7, give it another go. The reason why, until today, that drifting in Forza felt weird was because you couldn't adjust the steering angle.

Now you can. They've also revamped the scoring system, and straight line drifting is now important in scoring races.

Even better, the drift upgrade is free.

My Xbox is in bits at the moment. My partners spawn decided it needed cleaning. I have not brought a new game, since GTA5.

I handled the drifting in Grid OK; it's just that I could do the tracks faster, without the drift. I guess i am some kind of snob, regarding these things. I look at drifting as a kind of thuggish behaviour.

It's pretty hard to describe. I'm guessing you have more interest in traditional racing?

Thing is drift racing has come a long way. It's become a motorsport event with the same level of professionalism as any touring car, formula or whatever series. A very good example is Formula Drift. The cars aren't just modified street racers any more; like touring cars, they're completely rebuilt for a single purpose.

An analogy I like to use: Drifting is to racing as Diving is to swimming.

I'm liking the new update so far however the only issue i have is that you can't select the open test track for drift events.

Do you mean the layout where it's one big playground? See the problem is drift scoring in Forza is reliant on a straight set path, like all the normal tracks. I think the open layout airfield lacks this path. I may be wrong.

Anyway, my drift car is built. I'm using a Nissan 240SX with widebody conversion, and a natural aspiration V8 engine replacement. Works wonders, and the kick is big. Easy to learn, difficult to master.

Yeah that's exactly the problem, however i would have thought that they would realise this and come to some solution for that track but i guess not.

I now have a variety of drift cars but my favourites are my Aston and TVR, Aston is a little too stable and needs some slight work but the TVR drifts nicely.

I haven't tried any japanese car yet (except from the GT rx7 but it doesn't have the upgrade available) because i can't afford the upgrades.

One does not drift an Aston Martin. It is just not done.
