Thought I'd do a thread that's a little different, and hopefully fun.
What skills do you have? By that, I mean what are you good at doing?
I'll start with myself. I've got a lot of experience in animal care, specifically, common farm animals such as sheep, goats, and horses. Particularly horses.
I started at the age of 15, with my Year 10 work experience assignment. Most of the other kids went to local business, or perhaps their old primary schools. Not me! I went to a stable, now sadly gone, and it led to the biggest adventure of my life.
For about two years, until the place was closed, I found myself handling the above mentioned animals, as well as ducks, chickens and guinea pigs.
In that time I learnt that I have a natural affinity with horses. The owner oft' told me that she was shocked over how well I could control a red-blooded stallion despite him losing his mind over trying to get to the mares. His name was Sixpence. I really miss that little guy. Shetland Pony, my favourite breed.
Believe it or not I've never ridden. I just love looking after horses.
Sadly it's been years since I last had a chance to be with them. I hope one day to get another chance, because this is the thing I know I was meant to do.
