Gamescom 2018

Just watched the video Speccy put up on page 15, thanks man!.

I wasn't expecting much versatility in 3.2, lots of pew pew again (how surprising) and another Chieftain variant......okay?
The Guardian SLFs look nice but I just hope they're not locked behind another grindwall just like the other Guardian stuff.
3.2 is the lead up towards the Q4 update, I definitely hope it doesn't set the tone for Q4 though.
In this short video I didn't see any core gameplay being addressed, there's mostly new toys again, wasn't the Beyond series there to address the core gameplay?
3.0 improved the engineers imho but that's about it regarding improving the core gameplay, 3.1 and 3.2 are mainly new toys.

For me personally Q4 needs to be realy good in order to compensate for what's been delivered during the Beyond series in regard to core gameplay.

Let's just hope they fix a lot of long standing bugs on the 28th.

Right you are, Cmdr.

Another bunch of rockets and weapons? Where are the improvments? And a boring 'new' ship? Meh [down]

It's Gamescom, and all we got is a review about 3.2?

Where are the real news? About promised premium content, Q4 and 2019?

It was said at last year's "road map" reveal that the bulk of the team would be working on Q4, implying the other updates had less dev effort applied to them.

Amd considerable part of team works on next premium DLC. Seriously, for maintanance update this is quite ok.

FD promised news about 3.2 for Gamescom. Q4 and beyond news will come later.

I'd say that players having access to engineers "Out in COLONIA" and not having to travel back to the bubble for upgrades could be a very popular idea, actually.
Yeah fine for them. So long as they don't offer anything that isn't already available IN the bubble.

I also wonder if there'll be a new engineer for the old AX weapons, like the AX multicannon. They seem like they've been abandoned by FDEV.

Are those guardian fighters made up of detached components, held together by blue lightning bolts? I can't really tell from that video and want to be sure before I go in full rant mode.

Why the rant?
Why not have a bit of far fetched sci-fi standing in stark relief to some pretty grounded sciencey stuff? A little fiction can act as emphasis for the more realistic stuff.

I agree. I was excited for "Beyond" because I really want to see this game polished up as it is getting a bit shabby in certain places. But so far it is a lot of new trinkets and little polishing.

That is ALL I want for these minor updates. I was hoping for a ton of bug fixes for 3.1 but we got only a handful. Now I am hoping like heck we get some much needed bug fixing in 3.2. Honestly, I am now joining the pessimists club as Frontier just doesn't seem interested in fixing what they break, or polishing the existing content, even the small stuff like the endlessly repetitive system broadcasts (if I read one more wedding vows message....). I've never seen a dev so reticent about fixing their own content, even the fluff that I suspect could be polished up in a day's work. Very frustrating.

But we have a voice for GalNetNews now [squeeeee]

I wondered that too, but no other Guardian tech we have seen is like that so could just they war "Ran Tah' is presenting them in blueprint form only showing the guardian bits

Honestly I'm not impressed. So much hype for the THIRD visually similar/identical version of the chieftain, with a fighter bay (does that mean it comes bolted on? Or just that "it can equip one?" Because if it's the latter I REALLY don't see the blasted point) rather than an actual new ship and the rest was mostly glossed over. So we're getting fighters with detached "hover parts." Ooookay then. I don't really see this making people want to back the Alliance...I mean sure, if you love SLF's you're excited, but if not, then...

New guardian stuff and abandoned settlements (aka material farms) to "discover" (aka wait for someone to post them on youtube and just grab the coords) and bigger versions of missiles and torps (which, to be fair, ARE something lots of us have been wanting for awhile now.) A few new tech broker weapons, okay whatever.

And...Seriously? More engineers? Out in COLONIA? I don't understand why they think this will be a popular idea...

I dunno; I'm just lost as to why we should be excited for this. I WANT to be excited, I really do, but...really? This? I'm just not feelin' it. I know how cynical I sound, but I just honestly don't see the hype.

The only hype is in your head.

Looking forward to it!

I just hope that FD fixes the multiple SRV bug on XBOX and PS4 or the planetary wing missions will be unplayable.
Some days ago I was exploring guardian sites with a friend but the game keeps crashing with 2 SRV’s on one site.
