I'm probably late, but I just observed something in the INRA lgos

Kudos to commander Jaylem for his effort gathering all the logs

I just observed something in JAmeson´s log, probably someone saw it already. In it it talked about the "Hive ships" and somehow, for me, he referred to the actual Interceptos we are fighting. But then I realized what he really meant: A ship capable of housing thousands, if not millions of Thargoids.

For the base logs of the living specimen (Minute 16:45) it is clear the Thargoid "specimen" was actually very strong, potentially way bigger than any human.

So this raises a question: How big were those hive ships?

And also answers another one: The tactics they are using. They attack in small numbers, surgical attacks where we are weaker and then retreat. Basically they are avoiding to repeat the same mistake from the past -giving us a big target to unleashe a new biological weapon-.

I know probably made up those hypothesis before, but I thought it is always good to share them in case I happened to be the "illuminated one" :p

I know next to nothing about Thargoids and INRA. Enjoyed post though.

You got this from a recording at a crash site?
If it's 1000's, this big? (pic). Millions of ships might be .. um, bigger? (chart)

Apparently there are a load more sites like this - probably human ones - going to be in Chapter 3. [up]
Any idea what chirurgical attack means? Seems like it means, surgical .. but what's "chiru"rgical ?? (shrugs)

What I think of as Thargoid is about 90 metres across?
About the same tall, give 10m each for clearance, 100x100x100 m3.
Surface area of the Earth is 510.1 million km² ..

I'd estimate independence day queen ship covers about 1/12th?

Yes, it has the same meaning of surgical, but it's closer to the original greek form. As far as I understand you get Greek -> Latin -> Chirurgical, while Greek -> Latin -> French -> Surgical.

In "ED: And Here The Wheel" book there is/were hive ship on Raxxla, cannot recall exact words but it was described like really huge beyond expectations (mountain size?).

Lesson learnt: I'll use "surgical" from now on :D

I imagine something bigger. Technically, a Farragut or the Majestic Class Interdictors are "Mountain size" (The measure roughtly 2km long x 500 wide).
EDIT: Searching a bit, I found the specification for the Farragut Battle Cruiser. According to the wiki, that beast "only" requires 7000 crew members. If Jameson thought that they may have killed "thousands" or "millions" I do imagine the Hive ship to be something so massive that several human capital ships would be able to dock on it.

Why thankyou my friend! glad to see the log video helped! :)

Yes this part exited me too! they must be truly massive for it to have "defences to fly past"

If I were to speculate for a moment, these new 'Guardian beacons' appear to be very big. perhaps the biggest spaceborne ships to date (larger than starports)

now, what if these ships are not only here for player interaction, but a stepping stone for FDev's achievements? if this works then Hive ships may not be so farfetched afterall ;)
