Not IF but WHY discussion around modes in the BGS

Well screw it, as arguments are the only thing this forum ever has seemed to grasp.

BGS effects more than just your immediate game, it's PvE right up until the point where it starts effecting other people's game, then, I'm afraid kiddos, it becomes a PvP activity.

Hence why people don't like the idea of people not being out in visible veiw doing what they do.

Let's be honest here, considering the vast number of people who are utterly phobic of social interation in an online game, do you really think you stand to be blasted out the sky every two seconds by your fellow PvEers? Because you won't. Why? Because they think like you.

And as for the threat of PvPers.. They are hugely the minority, if there is more people populating open play, the odds of you even being targeted drop SIGNIFICANTLY.

Anything that has the potential to effect anyone else's game, should be mode locked to open play. Why? Because it is NOT a one man band activity.

It's that simple.

I really wish FDev would stop worrying about what thir player base will do in spite, and just make the damn move already.

AMEN brother.

What? I literally said his actions should only affect him and no one else. Lay off the pipe.

You said, and I quote: "You can not buy it. If you are affecting another group of people intentionally, taking away their system. ITs PVP Robert."

And since what you were referring to can happen in any mode then you've just admitted that PVP is multi-mode.

Do keep up at the back.

No the game hasn't changed. You want it to change for you own purposes though.

Its literally changing under your guys feet. And you guys cant see it.

Ask yourself why the new crime and punishment doesnt make sense. Then go do some BGS activities against another open only BGSEr. Watch it work perfectly.

And when your mind gets blown. Come back and give T90k a hug. I like hugs.

Games changed maynard. New things were added. Rules should and WILL be adjusted around it.

The game then doesnt have what we have now.

Games do indeed change - as this one already has and, I expect, will continue to.

Whether a subset of the player-base will be successful in their desire to remove access to existing content from another subset of the player-base remains to be seen - especially in light of Sandro's quite clear statements on the fact that Open Only is only being considered for Powerplay.

I mean pull a straw argument out of youd like. Whatever floats your boat.

When have I ever said that the C&P doesn't make any sense, I find it a pretty good PvE experience but could be better though. And I don't want or need any hugs from you and neither is my mind blown.

You said the same thing about powerplay too robert.

All that time Sando said other wise.

Now granted they did say BGS not being looked at at the moment.

But trust me its certainly not off the table

Me too. It seems that in some cases a PMF gives certain players a vastly inflated sense of their own importance.

No if they are going to give player factions minor factions to play with. Then they need to support the gameplay that comes with it.

Turn off the ability to affect one another.

Or give the the proper tools for engagement.

Give people the chance to defend themselves.

Or take them away as a failed mechanic.

You're ok with taking stuff away from players, right?

Yes. I am.

If it makes it balanced and work properly. And the players can still access it by clicking open play. Then they really never took anything away from anyone.

And ya'll are being babies for not wanting to get shot at for attacking a player faction.

I would vote for that.

Me too. I hate PMF's.

I'd support it too (and my group has a PMF)

(This thread isn't locked yet? wow...)

Oh lordy - I've started a movement! :D

Go for it. By all means. See how that works out for you :)

About as well as your Open-Only BGS suggestion, I'd expect.
