Guide / Tutorial UPDATED : List of Materials at DAV'S Hope(Pictorial)

You do know that you can trade 1 Chemical Processor for 6 Chemical Storage Units I assume?

Maybe you were making a joke - however I always found basic conductors (also grade 1) as rare as gold-infused-rocking-horse-poo and now have a stack thanks to them turning up at Dav's.

Oh, got more of them now. And don't really need that many. My point is that you may be finding some materials less frequently than others. Usually these will be precisely the materials you are looking for at the moment :D

Lordy Lordy, do i agree with this. I am Doubly convinced that FDev has a little bot built into the program on every users PC/Console, that identify s what flippin material/Data/Raw we are actually looking, then tells the servers 'NOT' to have that stuff appear very often id at all........Just to keep us GRINDING!!!

Greatest Conspiracy theories ever:

Who Shot Kennedy?
Did Man really walk on the Moon?
Do FDev know what we are looking for?
Why is Orange Jam Called Marmalade?

1st post updated :)

Thanks for the update. How do the other locations compare to DH? Can one find the same materials as at Dav's? I'm after Conductive Ceramics mostly, but also Chemical Manipulators, Heat Vanes, Heat Exchangers & Salvaged Alloys. Need to rebuild the supplies of these after my last engineering run :(

The best one in my addendum has chem man(Research Facility 5592), but dav's hope is that little bit better with a perfect layout of materials making a run very quick,go there :)

If Dav's the best for driving around, there's where I stay then. My wrist had more than enough of surface driving already (I control SRV with a joystick), so a place with least driving wins. Almost done for now. Could use more conductive ceramics and salvaged alloys, but at least the former are easy to get from destroyed enemy ships.

Salvaged Alloys are G1,so very easy to exchange at mats trader.
Conductive Ceramics are G3,and every Biotech Conductor gives you 9 CC.
:)

Yeah, most of Salvaged Alloys I tend to get from other sources, such like USS and HazRes, so they are not that much of a problem. Somehow I don't find too many of them at Dav's Hope, but I'm planning to do some bounty hunting now, so should get plenty.
Actually have 7 Biotech Conductors now and don't need them, so thanks for the tip, that helps a lot.
I do wish the engineers were giving some story based missions with a modest pile of materials as a reward, but until we're blessed with something like this, Dav's Hope is the place to return to.

just one question to be sure from my side .... there is absolutely no way to "bookmark" dav's hope location once discovered ? makes things easier to re-locate later especially after SRV ends up with no fuel

thanks

You can "bookmark " the planet and once you have been there Dav's should become listed in the Navigation Panel making it possible to "target" it. I have not tried that, but I have seen that posted more than once.

Yes, thankfully Dav's does not need to be 'found' by flying each time. After you've been there once you can just drop on it like a planetary base.

I don't know what causes its location to become helpfully locked in this way. Perhaps it's scanning the data point?

You need to scan all comms uplinks to get the place marked in nav panel. Or the data point. It differs regarding the place.
Differs because this is not only valid for Dav's Hope - the many other abandoned outposts or crash sites work similar.

Other abandoned settlements and crash sites are listed here:

Thanks ! Even if i don't like grind too much i must say that is the best way to keep in curse of the engeenering stuff.

Thanks for this excellent guide, Dognosh, Plus rep!

Interesting though; on Mobius PVE America just now I think I was literally run over by an SRV bot; I was collecting stuff and a hollow square appeared on the other side of Dav's hope...I collected two items and then suddenly a SRV roared by at very high speed, collected all the other items ahead of me, and then disappeared off my radar. I'm waiting for it (him? her?) to reappear once items have spawned again.
I tried to chase it around Dev'a hope, and think it might have been a bot because it was travelling at super high speed and did not have to do any maneuvering to grab every item.
