The third new grade 1 material has to be "Chemical Storage" then. At least I didn't notice any other than that...
At first I was a bit confused about the little changes in terrain but got used to it and it's definitely better now, no more materials on the downhill run and no more materials stuck under buildings...
I did quite a "few" [wacky] runs and filled up my storage to the brim with mats plus some data...
and those intel packages netted me about 1M Credits on top.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it in the thread, but you can get goodies from scanning surface data point (by the gate). Apart from the standard data reward for the Empire or Federation, I got Specialised Legacy Firmware, Cracked Industrial Firmware, Classified Scan Databanks. I'll see if it drops anything else.

Anyways - grid resistors -really are you sure cos, I was at Davs for a while last night and not a single grid resistor spawned - just the finger from RNJEEBUS again is it?
Dav's Hope is bugged for me.
I landed there in a private group - no materials.
Then I went to relog to Solo. Game won't load in, I waited minutes and it came up with a connection error. I tried open, private, solo - always loading for almost an eternity.
So loaded the game without Horizons and it kicked me back to orbit. I warped out of the system and loaded back into horizons. All fine until I went to Davs hope again. As soon as my ship was about to enter Glide mode the game started sort of loading the planet forever again and now I got a "connection error" again.
What a nice way to make sure we go back to our grind, isn't it?

I have a few grid resistors, but don't exactly remember where from. I can see I've made a note recently that I need more of them after my last visit to Dav's Hope. Which means I must have picked them from some USS, because I went after Core Dynamics Components. So mostly High Grade Emissions USS in Federal systems in the state of Boom. I guess if they show at Dav's Hope, they must drop rather infrequently there.
Yup spent a few sessions at Davs over 2 nights and not a single resistor dropped - not a biggy given they aren't a rarity but they did not appear at Davs...for me anyways.
I was getting then every 4th or so try. I only got them I think near the terminal, so wasn't sure if they pop up anywhere else. This was Sunday I was getting a number of them...
Just thought I'd check for you as I was sure I picked some up there yesterday. So here is a screenie from EDDiscovery, yesterday, Dav's Hope, Grid Resistors:
So not a frequent drop but they do spawn there.

After a while, thinking that it was something on my end (a few hours to be honest) I crawled the forum a bit to find out that Dav's Hope is indeed getting people stuck, and the solution offered was to log into the normal (not horizon) version of the game to be pushed back to orbit...

Well that was only a matter of time...I smell nerfhammer.
I honestly believe it to be a bug as no G5 is given out; but then as I said elsewhere, FD is killing ED with the grind ,one Cmdr at a time
I did a re-supply run at Dav's Hope today, probably about an hour or so. No problems whatsoever. So it may be something at your end, probably best to send a support ticket.
Not a single Grid Resistor, so I hope I have enough mats to trade for that. I got another type of data though - Tagged Encryption Codes. Maybe finally I will have enough materials and data to get what I need and finish working on weapons.
After every major update I find it not worthwhile to engage in normal activities until the worst of the bugs get squished. With the big changes to materials and synth I have spent the time since 3.0 by coming back from an exploration journey (carefully
) and since then just maxing-out the materials in each of my commanders.Some major releases are more buggy that others - this one is not the worst in my 3 years.

I haven't noticed any bugs so far. Since the update I've been gathering materials and data, engineering modules and doing some combat.
There are quite a few bugs in this release but at least it's playable. Spare a thought for EVE players whose latest expansion gets 10 - 15fps with a 1080Ti and most basic game features are broken. Still that's a successful expansion for CCP since they didn't delete any files Windows needs to boot. (they have done that before)
Is there a list of data obtainable from the data point? Looking for a farmable data point dropping emissions data because I need Abnormal Compact for thrusters.
I don't think ACED is given by the data point - you have to get that from combat ship scanning. You can trade for them now can't you? (Not done any trading like that yet.)
Dav's hope gives no Grade5 of anything (and never has done) as far as I am aware.
