I did my daily weigh-in today.

I've beaten the 300lb mark!

I'm down to 296lb.

I saw some friends a couple days ago and they did mention that my face looked a lot less round, and that my chin was more defined.

Grats! Stick with the program and don't rush it. One of my best friends was up to 160 kilos for years, after many unsuccessful attempts on his own he got into an organized diet program that changed his life over a period of almost 2 years. Stay positive and avoid extremes! It takes time and effort, but you can always turn your life around! Don't hurry results, but enjoy the good direction!

Congrats!

Victory is in the determination to move in the right direction.

One day at a time, one step at a time.

Every small step is progress to achieving a goal.

Well done

Thanks guys.

This is huge for me. If you told me I'd weigh less than 300lb a few months ago, I'd have laughed at you, telling you it will never happen.

The weight is going down. And I'm starting to feel the effects. The bike still knackers me, but not quite as much when I first picked it up.

The bike will grow on you. Before you know it, you'll be doing two-hour jaunts around the town or into the nature. :)
I'm rooting for you.
And yes, you can feel every pound off your back.
Just try to pick up and carry a 20lb backpack (20lb is about a max healthy weight that one can lose in a month). You realize it's bloody heavy! So every time you lose it, it's an immense relief for your body.

Congrats Uni, sounds like things are going well!

I'm sure you've already had similar advice, but remember that as the weight drops and your fitness improves the cycling will get easier, so you'll need to keep gradually upping either the amount or the difficulty. Also, start throwing in different kinds of exercise as you progress. Swimming's always good!

Keep up the good work!

I'm going on holiday in November, and the caravan park has a pool on site. I'm going to start swimming again with that, and then when I'll get home I'll begin going to the local leisure centre. :)
