How to talk to NPCs

Hi. I know how to talk to another player using text and voice comms but I don't know where to find the preset messages to send to NPCs. Does anyone know how to use the preset messages?

Don't think the NPC comms are in yet. I've tried talking to them, the only response I've received was "Die!" which I think was a coincidence.

Looking forward to them coming in, but I think we're a distance away yet.

Activating UI + Engine power up (Castle Hat) gets to the generic NPC messages on an X-55 but NPCs usually don't respond. Still I have had NPC's message me as in "I'm Hit" while I'm advancing on the bad guy in the fight. Others have offered me trading deals when I locked my weapons on them without firing.

I've tried to goad interdiction authority ships into firing upon me so I can obliterate them but no luck thus far.
They don't seem to care much no matter how I swear at or insult them.
