Voice Attack issue

I know this isn't the VA website but maybe someone here has had a similar issue. I've purchased and downloaded some other voices, IE IVONA Amy, and other MS TTS voices. When I go to change settings I can select the voice I want and it reads in that voice and saves the info. However, VA won't speak in any voice except for Microsoft Anna. I've looked everywhere and found no solution. Any ideas?

Look in Control Panel, Ease of Access, Use the Computer without a Display, Set Up Text to Speech.

If you are using a 64bit OS. You could try and set the 32bit default voice.
Could be that voice attack uses the 32bit TTS rather than the 64bit.

32bit control panel for TTS on Win7 is
C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Speech\SpeechUX\sapi.cpl

See thats not the issue. It shows IVONA Amy as my system default in the change text to speech preferences, Voice Attack just won't acknowledge it and still uses Microsoft Anna.

Just tried that and it shows Ivona Amy as my default.

Is it all commands that are using Anna ? Are the commands set to use the new voice in the Voice attack profile.

If you are using an imported profile it can sometimes have the voice to use set in the command.

Other than that I'm stuck. Voice attack forums might get you more info.

Holy ****, you're a genius. I didn't realize I had to set the voice for each command. Massive thanks dude.

Actually if you make the voice you want to use as your default voice then set Voice Attack to use default voice it will only use the one you wish.

It wouldn't. I had the commands set to use Anna for some reason. Im going to make more commands now lol.

Yep in Voice attack you can make a command and tell it to use the default voice. Then in windows text to speech settings you set your default voice to the voice you want to use.

And yes it does work that's how mine has operated for months and I often change the default voice to enable my commands to be read by a new voice.

But you have to make sure that your Voice attack program is set to use Default when you make the commands as if you make your first command in Voice attack as say, Fred, all your commands will use Fred until you change the name to default or another name in your list of useable names.
But any of the commands in Voice attack that have been programmed to use a different name from default will use the voice originally programmed.

Necro post, but I came upon this thread while looking for a solution to VoiceAttack giving a "Voice not installed" kind of message when I tried to use voices like Microsoft's Hazel and ZiraPro hacked into the registry on Windows 7. Since I found a solution, I figured I'd share for anybody else who finds this thread while having the same problem.

Hazel was set as default and worked fine in the Text-to-Speech setup in Windows, but returned the above error when VoiceAttack tried to generate speech with it. I wound up finding a thread that suggested installing Microsoft Speech Platform - Runtime (Version 11) x86 in addition to the x64 version. I installed the x86 without changing anything else and Hazel immediately started working in VA.

Thank you - Was having the same problem, found this thread, installed "Microsoft Speech Platform - Runtime (Version 11) x86" and got Hazel back.

I've been using VA since launch and I was using IVONA until recently punching Verity. Did you have any issues with binding her to keys/commands? The "Takeoff handover" won't work nor will her command "down" action. Makes requesting docking a bit difficult. I can rewrite the command using the "press button" option but I shouldn't have to...should I?
