Okay guys. I love keyboard for throttle and thrust.

But mouse, while accurate... I'm struggling. LOL

So I'm looking to get a joystick.

No throttle. Like I say I actually really like the keyboard for that job. Probably the hybrid mechanical switches. The keys on the Ornata feel great.

So, £100 is my top budget, but any saving is a bonus.

I think of the t16000 as the benchmark. At my budget, is there anything better? Or should I go for the t16000m? It's low enough in cost that I could order right now.

Only having a joystick will also save real estate on my desk, which is limited as my PC is massive and my Xbox also sits on it. :D

Logitech Extreme 3D pro has better buttons placement on the stick & stick base than Thrustmaster T-16000m, but otherwise the latter feels better in my experience. Might need to dampen the led glow at stick base with some tape though...

The logitech Extreme 3D pro is meant to be pretty goodl. I have never used one myself, but thinking of getting one.
I used one for a long time, liked it a lot.
But when my 1st unit developed an incurable twist axis drift after 5 years of use, and the replacement I bought didn't last a full year (neither did the warranty replacement), I bit the bullet & got me Thrustmaster T.16000m FCS Hotas, very happy with the purchase (1½ years heavy use so far).

I've placed an order for the Logitech.

As stated above the button placement is much better, which is very important to me.

It was also on offer today, so even more reason to go this route.

The stick should arrive tomorrow.

Looking forward to it.

IF accuracy is important to you the 3d pro is junk.

Seriously if you are going to use one stick and keyboard the accuracy of the t16000m is far better than going for "button placement" on the stick itself.

Well the 3D just arrived.

I won't lie, the price was absolutely a factor.

I would still like to get a GPU upgrade this year, and for me, a £30 saving goes a long way towards that.

Just about to try it out in the game.

Will get back to you on my thoughts. What I can tell you right now is that it fits my desk perfectly, leaving enough room to comfortably use my mouse and keyboard.

Right, it's good. I like it.

I do need to adjust some dead-zones but other than that, it's perfect.

I'm very happy with it overall.

A fine replacement to my X52, and goes well with my Razer Ornata/Mamba.

The point is that it works. This is a no-nonsense stick, and really rather user-friendly, which is what I wanted. Windows Joystick control panel is all the utility I need.

Right, dead-zones sorted.

Now they're done, I'm loving this thing!

Ship is super responsive, I love the buttons, and frankly is just a great stick.

I can't really complain at £34, that's less than an Xbox controller!

No, it's great. Not perfect, but the simplicity of it wins me over. I'm happy.

used the T flight for a few years, I still have it but I wanted more buttons. The T flight is a good stick, but the T1600m is just so much better.

There's a new model for the T1600m available, with the appendix 'FCS'. Any experience with this one?

I've owned the T16000M FCS (Orange model, there's a green version too) for over a year now. And I still love it! I got the stick and throttle (TWCS) package for a very decent price ~110USD on Amazon (you can get them for about ~100USD at times). It's study and very accurate. It has a stiff spring which makes it hard to move at first but you get use to it after a few game sessions.

There's really no difference between the two T16000's internally.

Green and orange T16000M are pretty much the same thing. Slight visual changes, but nothing to speak of. However, there are 2 things you will need to do when you get one:

1.Disconnect the green/orange LED. Seriously. If you play in a dark room you WILL be blinded. There are clear and simple instructions online on how to do it, it's easy. Anybody in a design phase who's decided it was a good idea should be fired...
2.Get your wrist in shape :D This thing has a man's manly spring of manliness. Perhaps it's not the stiffest out there, but it's close. It feels like it was designed for aircraft simulators in a first place, and not space sims. Some people love it, some hate it. Personally I can't play with a light spring. On something like Saitek sticks you get literally zero physical feedback due to springs being old stretched out rubber bands from a pair of nickers somebody had thrown out...Which makes a whole thing wobbly and imprecise to me.

I have one of these, was going to get a 2 "part" HOTAS but the Logitech + keyboard for thrusters and throttle works really well plus more buttons than I can remember what i have mapped to them.

I took mine to bits, it seems quite well made with hotglue on the connectors and a bit of grease on the pivot points.
