Actually, it does - there is post release proof of that, you can google for it if you don't believe me.

I always do, part of my charm!I'm sure you'll come up with something.
I don't have to do it at all, and I have already debunked your assertion at least once already in this very thread. Just look through the thread history if you are too lazy to google it yourself.Would you kindly google it for me? Official statements only. No forum post magic when a choir sing it to make it real.
You know you have to. We're past the age of believing in fairy tales.
Out of the two of us - The only person being disingenuous or dishonest is you as I see it.It does not contradict the FDev stance on PVP I posted.
That is just more of your dishonesty.
LOL
Good question. For the official record, I absolutely consider practitioners and forum advocates of clogging (or even menu logging during combat) to be the purest, most distilled version of a griefer. When I attack and attempt to destroy someone in game, I'm playing the game with the tools given to me (well, actually I paid a bunch of money for them) by Fdev themselves and I'm playing well within the intents of the game's various systems, and that's before layering in my very valid role play; someone can call me a griefer, but they're simply pulling the insult right out of their backsides with no legitimate evidence to back it up...while on the other hand, clogging and advocating of such on the forum and other media platforms has literally only one purpose that needs no deciphering
t. person who logs out in combat "but it's not combat logging." lmao play in soloChoosing to react in the same way to combat logging (which is clearly against the rules) and using a legitimate menu logout timer is never going to be taken seriously because they are completely different things. Calling either of these actions "griefing" is also ridiculous, given that the player initiating PVP combat is choosing their target, not the other way around, which means that it is literally impossible for someone to "grief" another player with a menu log since they never initiated PVP combat in the first place.
I'm sorry but as long PVP players continue to try to confuse combat logging with menu logging they are not going to be taken seriously because FD has clearly made a sharp and very clear distinction between both of these behaviors. If you choose to play the game knowing that menu logging exists as a legitimate option then you have no right to then turn around and complain about it afterwards if you can't kill your target within 15 seconds of complete inactivity.
That is assuming it is not the attacker that is either menu logging or combat logging - which is not actually guaranteed.Choosing to react in the same way to combat logging (which is clearly against the rules) and using a legitimate menu logout timer is never going to be taken seriously because they are completely different things. I will admit, that the most likely complaints are coming from those that initiate the engagement rather than the other way round.
lolWhen you choose to log into the game you are giving your consent to being menu logged on. If you are troubled by that fact, you can choose to play in Solo, or a Private Group with rules against Menu Logging.
"t-t-they w-w-were b-b-b-beating me a-a-a-and and *heavy breathing* I-I-I t-t-tried t-t-to turn on my s-s-shields b-b-but I-I-I just logged out in the middle of combat but it's not combat logging it's menu logging lmao get rekt outplayed 1v1 me karamja"Read FD's descriptions of "combat logging" and "menu logging". They are not at all the same thing. One action immediately removes your ship from the game, the other action gives your opponent 15 seconds of complete inactivity where you can't maneuver or take any action to defend yourself. If you can't kill a defenseless player who is doing literally nothing during a full 15 seconds then perhaps your PVP "skills" need a bit of work.
True - there are several hard truths that (at least some of) the PvP community fails to acknowledge - I think you can just add it to the long list.Well that is another issue that that PVP community often fails to acknowledge, that an attacker has the same option to use a menu log if they are losing the fight that the defender does. They rarely need to use this option however because the vast majority of PVP interactions in Open occur with such an overwhelming advantage for the attacker that they don't even consider the possibility that they could lose the fight, it's just a question of whether they can get the satisfaction of griefing their victim or not.
actually I usually go for fully outfitted Anacondas but they just combat log (sorry use the menu to log out during combat) because NPCs are challenging enough.True - there are several hard truths that (at least some of) the PvP community fails to acknowledge - I think you can just add it to the long list.![]()

^every combat logger hiding behind FD's joke menu logging excuse.
Funny how you all do it but never admit to it. Just say you menu log. It's OK, FD let you hide from combat and personal responsibility.
I quit the game years ago and just started burning credits.Hold on there cowboy. Your fantasy may be that all those that understand the game's rules, or that see combat logging as nothing more than a nuisance, are cheating, but you are mistaken. I take my losses as a part of the game.
Those pixels aren't so precious to me that I would wriggle out of a loss, nor wet myself if my opportunity for PK were to log on me. It's just not that big of a deal.

It's irritating when people cheat in anything, particularly when the developers offer some hand-wavey excuse for why they've just stopped caring about fixing it.
You can't even report combat logging anymore, there's proof enough.
Despite what some nobody at FD states, combat logging has been a problem in many games for a very long time, and the few second timers are just ways to try to prevent it.
Ultimately it needs actual enforcement of rules, but those have been laughable ever since people tried to justify heat weapons and healing beams.
Let's not even bring up the disaster that was the reception to the changes in 2.3 since all of the CZ farmers would have actually had to try to stay awake during combat.
Tbh I have more fun in the forums than I do in the game, dunno why it took me so long to come back here.
