Welcome to the briefing, son. Sit your heiny down over there and we'll tell you how you'll play an important role in the future of not just the Federation but the entire Galaxy.
Galactic Animus Research Division, as the name implies, means we study conflict. We understand it, we experiment with it, we participate in it and we use it, for the greater good.
Our analysts are always keeping their ear to the ground, looking at the various conflicts taking place in Federation space (and wider if need be) and seeing where we can best use GARD's resources, or if we should interfere at all. All of our squadron members are committed to one thing, ensuring the galaxy is a safe and fair place for Federation citizens first, but also all mankind. We never victimise worse pilots or under-resourced and under-equipped pilots, in fact we go out of our way to offer them help. We can't make the galaxy fair, hell no! But does that mean we aren't going to try! Hell, NO! We will do what we think is right, or die trying. We always put the good of innocent pilots above our own.

About the founder: I am an ex wow guildmaster who has led 2 huge guilds to great success. I fight for justice in all its forms and lead from the frontline. As a leader I offer balance and a strong sense of fairness.
My main goal from Elite is to have a large guild of players going around simply being 'decent people', and to master the dogfighting model. Our reputation should be such that when anyone sees a GARD registered ID, they can feel safe that there's someone around who will respond to a distress call, or at least, definitely won't attack them for no reason. If one day, we get reputations as effective BGS squads and pvp protectors, that will be a bonus, but our prime directive is to be friendly and have fun, as I have found that when you build on that, great things always develop.
About the Squadron: GARD has been created to involve itself in the BGS on the Federation side (tentatively at first, we are actively looking to recruit knowledgeable BGS players to form part of GARD's council which will decide where we focus at any given time). Our early focus will be areas where the other superpowers are expanding into Federation space, slowing that advance, or halting it if we can.
GARD members consider ourselves the unofficial protectors of the galaxy. GARD requires nothing of its casual members, no GARD operations will be mandatory for members, we want to be a simple guild of like minded people with no pressure. The core of the guild will obviously be planning and conducting BGS and PvP operations and it is up to you as a member whether or not you want to support that. While GARD is NOT a PvP guild, we will be doing some (I want to get better myself), naturally, that will be of the 'anti-griefing' bent. As stated in the mission statement above, GARD is a force for GOOD, we mainly battle evil and right wrongs.
Basically, GARD believes that space is big enough for all of us, so the Empire and the Alliance should do us all a favour and expand in a different direction.
The line is drawn here, we will take back what was once ours and then we will hold it for the Federation. GARD currently has no stance on Thargoids, as their threat is still being assessed by our analysts. Again we are looking for xeno specialists to recruit and provide meaningful data on the alien conflicts going on around the human bubble. This is an area of future interest.
Join up if you want to be able to say that you fight for the good guys (no ambiguity, we are good guys), in a corrupt and dangerous galaxy.

Resources: As an experienced guildmaster, I will provide the resources that the guild needs. The HQ which is a microsite is already up and running, where we can meet and exchange ideas in private. The discord is up and running, and we have a small TS server for sensitive operations. Squadron artwork has already been produced, and there will be more, find this at HQ. Of course, we plan to have a carrier at the earliest possible moment, we'll see how that goes resource-wise at the time.
