I've broken the forum again... Stan & Ollie would be proud. :p

I'll be honest- after the trailer finished I had to watch it again to justify the misty eyes.
I have the fondest memories of their films and I'm honestly surprised at how good this looks, nay- feels.

Truly beautiful.

John C Rilley's likeness to Ollie in his older years it terrifyingly good.

They are both awesome, imo.
I just hope they're not going to destroy our childhood heroes with too much Hollywood-ness that is all too common in these types of films.

Hopefully not as the BBC are involved.

Well, I'm a big pessimist when comes to film industry. It doesn't matter who makes the film, the current trend of soapy feels and "shocking take on real events" ruined many things.
Though I did like the "I'm not there" about Bob Dylan. The very... let's say... unorthodox method of storytelling actually did a great job. (and great actors help loads).
But there are also many biographical films that I passionately hated, despite loving their protagonists IRL.

We'll see. From the trailer it looks great, though.

It's ok Ollie & Stan starred in films in the 20's onwards, way before certain people.

I should hope so, otherwise it would be quite a bad choice.

Glad you could see where I'm coming from.

My father saw them on stage in Stourbridge, West Midlands some time late 30's. Meanwhile, some of the film was shot only a couple of miles from there at the Black Country Living Museum. Which is worth a visit if you are ever so lost you find yourself near Dudley.

It;s one of those films I really really hope is as good as I want it to be,

The Darkest hour was the same due to the main protagonists having such strong identities makes it very hard for an actor to give a convincing performance.

However it's a stroke of genius here.

Who could imagine seriously that our two companions would make a come back in 21th century ?

But it's also true that the comedians have a big challenge in front of them

I have been there, and I agree with Yaffle, it is well worth going (you can easily lose a day there, especially with family).
