I am sorry but this game is absolutely worthless

I have tried to play today, for 4 hours. I have yet to see any profit. In fact I am in the hole 4k. I really cannot say I can even begin to understand what you were thinking.

For starters:

There are no lucrative missions at the cities. Either the jump distance is too long or its a source this or that mission. Which means a lot of jumping around over and over to try and find someone selling what these people need. It gets boring really fast, you have to REFUEL over and over.

Doing the same hypercruise and docking procedures over and over. Boring boring boring, how much time do you actually think a player wants to spend dealing with hypercruise approacing, and doing the same docking thing over and over in carbon copy city? I don't want to do it just to get fuel I can tell you that.

Next:

Combat missions. There aren't any that you can complete. Pirates are never found. Killing civilians, not sure don't want to have a giant bounty on my head.

And next the thing everyone is always telling me to go do. Fly to Eranin 2 and find the federal distress signal. This is how I am in the whole 4k. Thanks to all of you who gave me this garbage advice.

The problem with Eranin 2 is the UNCONTROLLED PVP. There is someone always ganking people there. One shotting or two shotting. What a waste. What kind of scumbag sits there and does that? The only place to get any kind of action and its 24/7 camped.

So you can't go there and get your mission done, I check the zone for players...see none and proceed to go after federal fighters. Then out of nowhere shields down, ship blown up, eject eject.Killed my CMDR loserplayer23.

I am getting sick of having to pay 3k to get my ship back because of your uncontrolled PVP situation. If someone ganks someone, the person ganked should NOT have to pay for a new ship. PERIOD! What is wrong with you guys? Its the LEAST you can do.

I get it it's beta, but its boring and the ONE Place you can go to reliably do combat without getting a bounty on your head has gankers. PROTIP people on the interents are awful people. But it seems the only choice we have is play solo....or play open world and have some loser ganker with the one kill cannon killing newbies.

I am so disgusted with this game. I had a bit of time to play, and just wanted to get a cobra., I cannot get one god damn credit towards it. Four hours and I am further behind. From ganking alone. PROTIP if its ganking the person attacked should not have to pay for his freaking ship.

God I don't even know. It takes a serious amount of trash suck to ruin this game. Because I have it working perfectly in the DK2. It would just have to have marginally decent to be awesome in VR. But honestly I cannot even begin to understand how you think this will be anything than a huge failure.

Unless you like playing euro truck in space and keeping spreadsheets of prices for the various planets this game is absolutely horrible. The MINUTE bit of combat content you have has gankers there 24/7.

I am really sick of it. Good luck with the development. At this pace you are going to need it. And a miracle. I have met ZERO good people in the game and about a dozen gankers. Doesn't speak well about this game at all. You should be able to play open world and not be subjected to this krap.

God all I wanted today was to get 10k for a freaking cobra. Thats it...one damn goal.

Hey :) thanks for the cash!

We all think mostly think it's great and that it's still in beta. So loads more greatness to come and the greatness we have will be improved on and made even greatererer lol.

Bye x

Every single one of the missions are placeholders. None of it is complete, and none of it is balanced. If you find it that distressing, then for your own sanity and that of others don't go anywhere near early access, betas and such ever again. PVP is similarly not sorted out entirely.

Thats the spirit, exactly what I expected. Yeah its nice to take money from people and sell them an awful gaming experience. Its even better when they are frustrated and really regretting investing in the game.

The only thing that makes that better is taunting them afterwards.

It does not excuse the PVP situation. I don't see this changing in the near future. Game is set to be released this year. 3 months away.

Consider the state of the beta then, absolutely worthless. I have played betas where it most definitely was not absolutely worthless.

all together now:
YOU KNOW IT'S A BETA, RIGHT ?

Bonus point:
The fact that you don't like doesn't make it a bad game.
It just mean you don't like it.

I love it, but still, I do respect the fact that you don't.

TL;DR appears to be a disgruntled SC player looking to vent on the ED forum.

Its beta, its for testing core game mechanics, no content is fully operational or are even in at this time, if you wanted a fully polished feature full game then you should not of bought a beta, you are here to test and support.

What pvp situation? You went to somewhere sombody told you there was pvp, you found some, someone pvp'd you to death and now youre complaining. :)

Did you want to fly in there all guns blazing, let them pretend to put up a fight while you pvp'd all them to death instead, then fly out of there singing the Team America theme tune?

:)

the experience is only bad if you totally fail to understand even the basics of the game. did you spend time practising the solo combat missions to learn the games flight mechanics? did you try playing in solo mode so there isn't and PvP? i'll bet the answer to both these questions is a big NO.

if the answer was yes you wouldn't be complaining about PvP for a start.

as others have said i advise you to come back when the game is finished - there will be a proper full tutorial by then - sounds like you need it.

No I went to the ONLY place you can do combat of ANY kind.

Big difference. But doesn't matter. As it stands either you play the macro spreadsheet game or have PVP gankers stop you from completing combat missions.

Not only that you LOSE credits from it. LOL LOL

I hate to say it but I kind of agree with the OP. I wasted 150$ for premium and this game is still 90% copy pasted repetition...It does get old fast.

Multiplayer with PvP = ganking. Just the nature of "The Game" (that is, any game and not just this one).

I stay away from PvP as much as possible. For me, that's part of the game. When the bug strikes me, I return to the core systems and kit out a fighter ship to hunt NPCs for a while. If a player shows up, I generally run as I'm likely outgunned and outskilled.

The trading/exploring aspects of the game is what got me into the ED in the first place. That's what I liked in Elite and the following iterations of it. Shooting up spaceships can be fun too, but I'm still no good at it. When I've compiled enough funds to repair my losses from my last attempt at shoot'em up, I'll get back to it.

Try trading and building up cash for a while. Run courier/light cargo missions and keep an eye out for what resources are generally Urgently Needed. The flat market in the core systems may seem frustrating, but when you can get into a Hauler/Cobra/Type 6, the bubble opens up for you greatly.

Or let the game be for a little bit. It is a beta. Come back for the next phase of beta, see what has been added. It is likely to be awesome.
