Does anyone play, and do you think it's worth getting into?

It's currently on sale on Steam and I'm rather tempted.

I did enjoy the game on Xbox but it runs horribly on that system.

How does it run on PC?

Steam recommends a 2GB GPU and 8GB RAM. I've got double on both? Think I'd be alright?

Thanks.

I've played, but not extensively.

If you can run Elite, ESO shouldn't be a problem IMO.

I prefer Skyrim to ESO, for some reason ESO never grabbed me the way Skyrim did.

Thanks. Good to know. Then yeah I should be fine. I'll think about it.

ESO is great. I'm playing it, on and off, since the launch. The base game is pretty good, but just be aware that if you want to enjoy the world in its entirety, you will have to either buy the ESO Plus (I think it's about 17 bucks/month) or buy the DLCs separately.

But it's not really cash-grabby, like other MMOs can be. And I really like how it plays. The combat is nice, classes really mean something, and every place, village, cavern you find on your way has its own story (and usually an interesting quest tied to it)

Another thing I like is that if you are after a nice story, with the Tamriel split into three factions, you can basically consider it three games in one, every one taking about 100 hours.

You're selling me... :)

Well, like I say, I have played before... On Xbox. I gave up though because console performance was crap. The collection is currently less than £30 on Steam, and I know I like the game already. Just wanted opinion on PC performance.

Again, I'll put lots of thought into it. I do like anything TES.

I don't know your exact specs, but I've currently got a Ryzen 5 and RX580 and I run everything maxed and the game looks beautiful. Before that I ran it on i5 (fourth gen) and GTX 960 and it looked basically the same. I don't know how does it look on a console, but I bet you'll be fine with whatever you've got. :)

If you have 300+ms lag don't bother playing as it is twitch based combat. With that level of lag by the time you see the mobs attack outline on the ground it will already be to late to avoid.
You could of course roll/doge constantly around but you will run out of endurance eventually.

That said it is a great game and with the mega server you should always see other players around.

ESO is a great game and there are people to interact with everywhere. There is pve, pvp, wvw, crafting, build diversity, an ocean of fashion, voice acting, mounts... it is extremely rich. I'm not a huge fan of the combat mechanics (feels like skill rotations get a bit stale after a bit), but it is an awesome themepark mmo.

I play ESO on the Xbox One X and have few issues. I have seen complaints on the ESO forums by some on Xbox having issues. You might ask there there if your PC specs will work well or not, I have also seen plenty of PC complaints as well, usually related to PvP performance in IC or Cyrodill.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
But, but...... mods!

I dunno... It's still an MMO. Is it really a comparable experience as playing Skyrim or Morrowind or Oblivion? I kind of just want to wait until TES6 hits.

Which will be when I'm 80 at this rate.....

Ok, TESO is looking better.

Yeah. No mods, of course.
But in my opinion, the ESO is comparable with Skyrim in many regards. Quests are the same, only more varied and numerous in ESO. The environment differs, from place to place, of course. But you can visit familiar places from previous games if you feel homesick/Skyrimsick/Oblivionsick/Morrowindsick/...

ESO is vast and fun. I have never once had a feeling that I have to grind to get something or reach certain level to do something. It's very accessible.
And (which is a huge plus for me) you can ignore other people and simply play it as another TES game. Spin your own story, explore, go from place to place, kill, quest, fish, craft, cook, get eaten by ghosts,...

Crap, I should be paid for this. :D

Been playing it on and off since beta as primarily a (solo) PvE game, with occasional CO-OP with some IRL friends.

On the graphical end, it's not very demanding - the models are very low poly, with several "flat" details simply painted onto the character models. (Like bodypaint) It makes up for that with really beautiful lighting and shadow-casting.

IMO combat can get repetitive due to having very few entirely skillbased abilities. There are no Skyrim style precision skillshots, where you take out NPCs sprinting across a bridge, as the combat system pretty much only uses soft-lock / cone of fire / area attacks.
You can find a couple of abilities that break it up a bit — my main character is for example, a two-handed heavy armor sorcerer that uses a directional blink (teleport) for offensively and defensively jumping from one enemy to the other. :D

Too MMO-ised to my taste, but the wife plays it and enjoys it a lot as a single player game. I'm just waiting for the next proper offline entry in the franchise personally, but if you have a craving for more Tamriel and don't mind the mmo layer (stupidly named brightly dressed idiots with fancy pets jumping all over the towns, random people rushing in and murdering everything in sight while you try to do things slowly, etc.), it's probably worth it. It's regularly on sale on the cheap and there are plenty of areas to visit with the expansions. The wife loved going back to Morrowind amongst other things.

Note that if you don't take the monthly sub (ESO Plus), you should probably not bother with the crafting. It takes a humongous amount of inventory space and the 'crafting bag' comes with the sub.

Did they roll Morrowind into that on sale base offering now? Because if they haven't you are missing out :D I usually come around and play when a new chapter comes out, and just activate my ESO plus during that time. Luckily you don't lose your crafting bag if you stop paying, you can just remove from it, not add new stuff. But as people said before it is only complete if you either ESO Plus or buy a pack that has all the DLC + Chapters. But Razum-dar thinks you would like it.. then go to the dungeon.

You played the game on X-Box, you already know you like it.... no need trying to "sell" you anything.:)
i7-4770k CPU @ 3.5Ghz, 16 GB ram and a 4Gb 1050Ti here, and that's only recently bought. All my playing time was with a GTX 770, and ran it on high settings with that just fine.
If you're buying the complete collection you won't have to worry about ESO plus either, not right away anyway.
The unlimited crafting bag (the main draw of ESO plus) is only of use once you've maxed your default storage limit, which won't happen for some time.
I think you have nothing to worry about.
