Sooo true! I always end up as a backstabbing archer that sneaks around in the shadows. Love it!

Edit. Strange, that quote didn't work...

Hah, yeah. It may be that the quote doesn't work when there is only a picture and no text.
Now that I think about it, it's maybe one of the reasons BrettC hates picture-only posts. :D :D

I too started another play through a while back and I'm currently lvl24 I think.
It's so incredibly immersive. The absolute best and most pure role playing game ever made.
However, it's painfully old. And it shows.
The AI is ridiculous, animations are off-sync and overall ugly, lip syncing is way off, the main story feels extremely old school now, graphics (Oldrim's unmodded graphics that is) looks severely dated, and dialogues are somewhat a joke sometimes.
But with a few mods, a great ENB, some additional tweaks here and there, Skyrim still manages to just draw me in to its world, making me feel like the character I'm playing.
Not bad for a 7 year old game.

Beyond Skyrim is pretty good too... they have already done Bruma and are working on Cyrodiil, Morrowind and Roscrea

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.

Modded Skyrim is still sublime. I've gotten more mileage out of Skyrim than any other videogame by a wide margin, and I still play it today.

Agreed. Maybe World of Warcraft has a chance there but that's a whole other type of game.
But like I said, with mods and especially a great ENB, Skyrim just oozes atmosphere and immersion.

Which is your ENB of choice in Skyrim Special Edition?

I tried a handful of them, but ended up with Re-engaged ENB. I didn't find it the most beautiful one generally, but it was the only one that easily provided me (via a config parameter) with dark nights (which is absolutely essential for me) without completely messing other things up like super bright snow at night etc.

Also, Special Edition has so many absolutely drop dead gorgeous weather mods... Dolomite Weathers is beautiful in good weathers, but lacks in storms, Rustic Weathers is great at bad weather, but is a bit washed out... Settled for Obsidian Weathers, which seems like a good balance between the other 2.

Also lighting, always a tough choice, between Skyrim Lighting Overhaul (which also gets rid of the interior fake fog) and Enhanced Lighting for ENB my current favorite)... Rarely use Enhanced Lights and Effects anymore, it makes too many world changes and has too many plugins for my taste...

Regarding water, it's a pity there still isn't Pure Waters for Special Edition, always was my favorite water mod in Oldrim, have to stick for RW2.

As for texture packs, there's just so many great ones in Special Edition...

Actually, because SSE ENB lacks so many features I only play Oldrim. I'd love to play SSE if Boris manages to bring back all the features from Oldrim though as SSE is far more stable than Oldrim.

I have my own ENB setup for Oldrim which is based on the ancient CLENB by Helios Double 6 but has gone through some major overhauls and rewriting by me and JawZ.
Plus I coded my own Effect.txt.
I absolutely love my ENB now as it has the tools I need to create a very immersive ENB.

It's a shame, because not only SSE is far more stable, but it also has some quite cool things, like rain/snow not going through roofs like in Oldrim, the flowing water, or the enhanced lighting.

And there are far more weather and lighting mods (especially weather - some drop dead gorgeous) for SSE.

It's amazing as 7 years later, new quality mods still keep popping for Skyrim, both SSE and Oldrim. Not even Fallout 4 comes close.

Excuse the standard resolution here...

When SSE lets me create this style, I'll let go of Oldrim. :D
