PvP In defense of murder (in game)

The thrill is the justification and the defense. That you don't like how I use my entertainment product is regrettable.
I just wanted to show the other perspective.
Maybe it'll help some to understand.

Darkslayer
I'm at a point where going to solo to avoid undesirable ppl would be unforgivably hypocritical. I confess I have done it to land on the medium pad at robigo mines though

Hey OP you had to expect some salt for this post. This is part of why Powerplay is fun for me. Even the newer CMDRs have had to pledge to my enemies. Takes away the guilt. I still dont kill harmless or competent folks (unless they already have an Anaconda). That es me off for some reason. Probably because of how hard we use to have to work for money and rank.

Every n00b with a cashcow's 'Conda gotta go.
Grinds me gears, flippystackin' no account sasssafras suckin' pulvers

Yay sadism you mean?
Schadenfreude Incarnate.
You do you Cmdr, you do you.

I don't mind what you do in game actually, and have killed defenseless ships myself. I'm just being pedantic about the thread title having hoped to have learned something from the long post. I might murder my wife for the thrill, but as a defense its unlikely to keep me out of prison. Tis all.

Can't you see how you're missing an important difference?
You killing your wife is an appalling act. It is a crime.
Me killing blowing up a cmdrs ship in a computer game is not.
It's a fundamental difference.
And that you relate the two acts with such ease is concerning

And yes in my case the defense is the thrill

Let me paraphrase:
"We're all playing behind the house, right? Me and all those other kids. I'm supposed to have fun, right?
So, obviously, I forced that little kid to eat mud, because it was fun. I felt strong and powerfull, which was really thrilling.
He wanted to build sand castle of some other stupid thing, so I've showed him how we play there.
He should've been reasonable about it, because it was so much fun, but he wasn't and refused to move and let me sit on a bench, which was unconfortably located in plain view of our parents.
I've tried to reason with him, explaining that if he would not move, I will seek him and beat him on every occasion, but he was stubborn and refused.
So I waited and when he left our parents sight I kicked his a**.
What a moron. And we could've been friends."
Confessions of a bully, 9 y.o.

I bless the Solo option.

"don't break your arm, OP" wow lol.

No it's not the same.as.getting a little.kid to eat mud.
Me and the cmdr I killed were playing a computer game.called elite dangerous where there's a good chance another player will blow up your ship. For the record I don't actually do it often. Mostly I'm nice in game. I'm giving a different perspective. Best probably if you try it for yourself

Why the incredible difficultly in understanding the difference between real life bullying and being the "other guy" in a computer game which EXPLICITLY endorsers hunting down and killing other cmdrs for the fun of it.
What am I missing here?

Well, the problem is that ED tries to marry too many different gamestyles into one without being consistent about it.
If I want to shoot, respawn, shoot, respawn - I choose anoother game, like Battlefront f.ex- yet ED allows for this gameplay style, next to absolutely peacefull ones.

Not everyone plays this game as you do, and you can actually ruin someone experience by forcing your "gamestyle" on them.

And also I'm just sharing my impressions on your post. It's confession of a bully. It's also funny you don't see it.

And what I consider bullying is not the fact that you've attacked another player. It's what happened after that.

Yeah, there are many times I'm.not in a combat ship, so yeah come find me and blow me up when I'm in the middle of running passenger missions. It'll still me back a little. I won't hate you though.

Yes I've been an arsehole in game. Yes. Would I do it in real life? No. Im sorry but it doesn't qualify as bullying to me(in the real world sense). Perhaps you need to tell David braben to stop putting I quote ,"or just go out and hunt and kill other cmdrs for the fun of it" on the back of the video game box. If it was bullying I don't think they'd allow it. Perhaps you have having unreasonably romantic ideals about what one should or shouldn't do in a video game that encourages shooting other cmdrs...

You are evil and the bane of life. Or something yada yada yada.
Open? Die, maybe.
Or... Runton solo or private groups.
Whatever.[cry]

eh... a quote:
"Cmdr, don't be foolish. If you do not leave in the next two minutes I will hunt you across the galaxy and destroy you wherever I see you"

That's the definition of bullying.

My point is that it's not a reflection on me as a person. That there is a difference between being mean in elite dangerous the video game and being mean in real life. People are so impressed with their projection of themselves as wonderful beings in elite dangerous the video game.
You're too interested in passing judgement.
But you have no moral right to. None.
You just enjoy a more insidious type of superiority

What am I missing here?
A wider perspective.

You came to the forum either because you do feel a certain amount of guilt (attempting to defend your actions as per title), or because you wanted to boast about your exploit.

So it's all about you and nothing else.
