Finding "Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis"

I've scanned hundreds of combat ships; haven't got a single one of these except via Material Trader. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks.

Aberrant Shield Pattern Analysis: 140/150... nope, not having a problem with them. Not quite sure, where I got them from... probably from scanning ships in RESs while bounty hunting.

You can also get them as mission reward, though, AFAIK.

I too am not sure where I've got mine. From missions most likely.

Maybe you could try the following method posted by Guy Price: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCYSBo3nf3M&feature=youtu.be&t=453

It involves some work though, because you'll need a permit. He was basically scanning high end combat ships piloted by high ranked NPCs. They also appear in combat zones, although not as reliable as in the place shown in the video.
And should you end up with Peculiar Shield Frequency Data you can trade these down to Aberrant Shield Data Analysis.

You will get them in HighRes or HazRes sites. Just drop in with a ship, no cargo, and scan everybody. The NPCs there almost never attack you if you have no cargo.
Or if you want to earn some money at the side, start a fight. :)

Apart from Resource sites, like you I had a hard time to find any.

See, this is the frustrating thing. Why should combat ships give different drops at a Res vs anywhere else. It's stupid. Thanks though.

I have 114 of them - admittedly mainly because I have very little use for them - which I think must mostly have been obtained through supercruise scans. I've barely spent any time in a RES or CZ since 3.0, certainly not enough to get that many - most of my fights are with mission enemies, who are usually pre-scanned.

As someone who has never done a single bit of combat, never been to a CZ, I have about 90 of these. I got them by randomly scanning ships in stations when I was trading and mission running. I would literally just scan ships whilst sitting on a pad. I actually discovered if I could get a pad at the back of a station then hangar the ship (so it was turned facing the rest of the station), I could scan everything in and around the station including those flying around the outside. It would actually annoy people getting scanned by an invisible ship thats docked at the back of the station inside its hangar.

150/150. I never had to farm these since I never worked on the blueprints that use them. You never go to a Haz Res? I spend a lot of time at the CG looking at messages like "capacity full" for mats I dont need. Too bad its not a G5.
