News Beyond - Chapter Four - Beta Announcement

#rememberTheGnosis

it's more than a tag...

It is a recall for all of us to remember, player and of course FDev...

The gnosis was the worse event, a disaster for all players that want to play Elite as a game, not as a bugged-royal-rumble.

Every time in last year (maybe 2) we saw some great news, with awesome trailer,s we hoped to see a step to a better Elite, something that we really want-to-play, not only a grind game or a royal rumble, but a great universe where fly, build corporation, put player toghether to reach some goals, change the universe self and not only see a distant deaf politic, explore and find new thigs randomly: not the day after a new patch.

#rememberTheGnosis is to bring all of us to reality, and an attempt to let know to FDev that a lot of players (most of them with lifetime-pass) are waiting to return to play an Elite they would like to play.

NB: Sorry for my English

I completely disagree. Thought it was great.

Nah, it's the latest way a bunch of salty-bois have decided to attack FD. I guess it gives me more for the blocklist, and fingers crossed people start ignoring y'all. Bye!

Edit: Disney said it best

I remember. Went there in my explo-corvette, had tons of funs. Both in-game and on the forums, where frustrated people like you pretend to be some kind of spokesmen for others. Ha!

so you spend most of the time inside the gnosis waiting for the devs to fix the bugs outside of it??? sooo much fun.

....
on paper is nice content but...

and I don't trust no more Frontier until they prove they can keep promises and listen the community

So...any word on the Panther Clipper?...when does that one come out, instead of just more fighter style ships?...i hope that it will retain the supposed 2k tons of cargo, and that "planetary-bombardment" capable size defense turrets did sound interesting. [big grin]

what is fun about being grounded on a ship because the swarm of bugs keep eating all the ships that dare to exit the Gnosis ??

u kidding, right? greatest frontier-generated fun i can even remember!

inb4 just-because-you-could, i was there in an unengineered cobra.

that experience alone got me to promptly play along with the whole guardians idiocy and pimp out a fdl just to shoot thargoids!

I agree... #RememberTheGNOSIS

Arrived at Colonia yesterday, just to properly name the (once) nameless Cobra III I had left behind there in early 3303. When there even were no names for ships yet. Many great moments to remember, but #bazmeson being no second to the Gnosis incident (which I think was epic btw, even if my laptop got smoked in the process and I had to read books for the rest of my holiday).

Mission accomplished :D

Can't wait to get stuck into all these new goodies. Especially curious about the BGS changes; is it something to link it into Squadrons or more general changes and what are "Scenario Interactions"?. Happy days ahead.

The Gnosis, could have been the great event that this game deserves. Was just fine.
Imho.

The sad reality is that it wouldn't matter. There are console-related bugs in this game that were reported almost 1 year ago, and yet remain unfixed over many updates. Fixing bugs is not one of Frontier's strengths... :(

Which is probably why they've been hiring a head of QA recently.

One thing is clear to me: You wasn't there and are just talking out of hearsay. Or maybe you've actually spend all the time in the Gnosis while 'roleplaying' to be totally helpless and in big danger! :D There were no 'ship eating bugs' there, what actually was there was no threat even to my non-combat explorer Cobra. I couldn't kill them either with my standard weapons, but I could at least try without being pulverized. So next time you seclude some rubbish you'd better investigate in what you copy and paste. Helps with reputation...

' but yeah, there was big drama on the forums at this time... :p

It seems you were not there you too... In the very first time ships were attacked "inside" the hangar bay. If you was so foul to try to defend you... you got a bounty for no fire zone violation and once destroyed you were deported in the closest detention centre... 1300ly afar.

But... the worst in absolute has been... what is happened after that? Nothing... simply nothing. Hey guys... return at home. A serious software house once adviced an event that involves 11,000 people tries to "manage" the event and to give them a positive experience that makes them say "it's just worth it". The Gnosis experience was like eating a cake (prepared by the community and certainly not by FDEV) and eating a bitter bite at the end (this one proposed by FDEV)
