Release Date

My friend is looking at getting into ED.

He was asking me when release is due, I can't honestly remember, but I know someone who is selling a virgin never used account with full access and addons for life etc, same as me, up for grabs at original price, you can no longer buy that access can you ?? worth him grabbing maybe ? or is release close enough now to make it not worthwhile you think ??

Depends on what your mate is expecting :)

If he wants to help develop the game, find bugs and doesn't get to attached to the stuff he earns in this "beta", then by all means go buy the beta, which seems still to be up. I don't think you can buy the expansion packs anymore though, which i would have advised to buy too. :(

If he is expecting to play a game then wait for release, because this is not "a game" yet.. its a testing platform.

The game is set to be release by the end/near end of this year.

I guess this depends if my friend feels the extra 40 euro is worth the lifetime updates / addons then, thanks for the info, you of course dont need to spell out what being involved in the game currently means, i'm playing it daily :D

Actually i do need to spell it out, because people don't seem to get this it seems... hence alot of the complaining going on on the forums :D

I can see gamma making 2014 but i think it will be a big step to have the full game with no bugs and full functionality.

But maybe we will, I should have lots of time to play between Christmas and New Year :cool:

Actually, you no longer get the lifetime updates/addons. If you buy the current beta these are not included and aren't available seperately either anymore...

I would suggest first contacting FD through the store to find out if the account is transferable.

The hope is release full Gamma on the thirty year anniversary by end September and full retail release by December 2014 ready for Christmas.
Though I tried to do a google search for the exact date.
And I would say getting the game early will be a major no brainer get it NOW NOW NOW if you can.

Definitely get it now, standard beta is only £15 more than the full release and you get a few months to play, learn the ropes and get up to speed so you can hit the ground running when we're all reset at release :D
