REAL Players

Yes, at least for the moment. It's not entirely clear how much obfuscation of humans will happen.

Also at the moment PCs are hollow on your radar/scanner thing. That is likely to change if the transponder comes in (an opt in to see other humans who have opted in easily).

Ive read a couple posts about human vs human ...

Seems that most are against that (currently) and just attacking NPC.

What is the advantage of someone (human) in a good ship killing other real players in sidewinders with no cargo.

I go hang around at nav points.. just hoping to get a hauler and some cargo.. and get shot up 1/2 the time by a real player.. for no gain to them.

Other than target practice and a notch in the kill column I guess.

I know its a space fight sim..
but I dont see how this help other players learn the game or even want to keep playing when they cant fly around for more than 10 mins.

Humankind is a destructive race after all, isn't it? I don't see any point in slaughtering newbies, too. BUT: why -as a new, and not well-equipped player- stick at a spot where you know you'll get killed?

Try trading runs, make money and gear up. And next time you go to a nav beacon or a conflict zone you'll be more ready, armed and dangerous. OR play solo-mode in order to learn the basics of the game.

Natural selection!

Seriously!? Please explain to us all how evolutionary theory in any way translates itself into how we choose to behave in a game? One of the greatest things about having awareness and intelligence is that we can choose not to act in a superficial, short term self interested way.

Of course there are other schools of thought... if you can call it that :)

I agree with the sentiment, but if we really are so intelligent then I'd expect other people to be more cautious around vastly superior ships.

he just has to play like Han solo, that guy never gets caught unless he wants to hahaha

There is no advantage or benefit to blowing up someone for nothing.

The disadvantages are its a crime, that will cause a bounty, police to attack and bounty hunters to attack, possibly factions, and possibly friends and relatives and personal revenge attacks when thery save up for better weapons.

I dont know if killing innocents counts towards your elite ranking, I dont think it did in the original, but I could be wrong.
