LOL...

So I've been wandering around in Open trying to meet other CMDRs while doing my stuff.

So far with no luck, even at engineer bases.

Then in Decait, as I undock from Farseer Inc, I see a CMDR in an Orca! Woohoo!

I target him to give the traditional "o7" greeting.

But before I can even type, I hear;

"Boom!"..."Target Destroyed"

I think he crashed... :D

Caught it all on shadowplay, but for some reason the audio didn't work. Meh.
Video kinda doesn't make sense without that.

Funny though. It's usually me crashing in to stuff.

CMDR Cosmic Spacehead

Yeah I've done similar: I'll get a message, typically "o7 ..." etc. get all excited, fumble with the stupid comms interface and then crash, so far nothing fatal, just out of supercruise due to one of those big spherical things getting in the way ...

Bad CMDR Cosmicspacehead, bad. You scared that poor CMDR to death.
As an apology make Hutton run 4 times. That'll teach you not to jump onto strangers like this.

I once met an ASP pilot at my home port. He was enemy pledged but novice... I proceeded with my basic RP, like asking his reasons for coming into a federal system blabla... he seemed to go full panic trying to dock but kinda forgot to request docking permission.... got shot by the station defense...

Hehe.
Poor fellow!

Every time i see a cmdr i do the "o7"
But 7.75433/10 you get nothing back.

Meaby for reason above...
Flying a ship and texing is DANGEROUS.

I tried to speak to 4 CMDRs today.

1 was German and clearly didn't speak English.
1 committed suicide.
1 ignored me.
And 1 had a very short conversation about Vanadium and logged off.

Went out in open last night for a bit and managed to exchange greetings with about a half dozen cmdrs.

But I got real tired of watching ships jerking around so went back to what I was doing in solo.

So much for open being so great to play in and all... ;)

Lucky! My experience in open has been more or less identical to my experience in solo.

Lots of flying around talking to myself.

People play online games for different reasons. I'm not the type that needs to interact with strangers to have a good time. For me, it certainly doesn't 'add' to my gaming experience.

I see just as many cmdrs on any given night in Mobius PvE. But I still prefer playing against the game, rather than strangers. But that's just me. :)

Rarely have I ever NOT seen other cmdrs near Jameson. You could go there and see what happens.

I like to play cooperatively, or solo. Not interested in PvP, but I do like to keep my Brave Sir Robin skills sharp. Lol

I've been playing in Mobius for ages, and that was, well, barren.. lol

I probably don't see many CMDRs because I don't play evenings or weekends in my timezone, and I probably just don't get instanced with USA, Asia or Australia.

Edit;
I appear to have gained the rather obvious tag of "humour"...
Considering the title or my thread, it may already have been quite obvious... :p

Late evenings for me are the worst. I'm GMT-7, and it seems like around 10PM or so my time the game gets almost unplayable with all the lags. Haven't figured out why. Maybe because everyone 'over there' is asleep? :D

I'm in Australia and actually seeing anyone is pretty meh... Even trolling around the CG and engineer base I rarely see anyone at all. such a pity that the netcode is the way it is.... ah well.. I still have fun doing what I do :)

If I text and fly AND drink and fly at the same time, will they cancel out and make me good?

I did make a Chinese friend today though. I will refrain from naming him Dim Sum. [up]
